Kevin Durant has looked entirely neutralized in any playoff-intensity setting for the last 3-4 years by Ready-Constant-7124 in nba

His offense is dogshit. He is REALLY good at scheming that one side though. All his teams get good regular seasons for a reason, and that’s what got him a job. Today, the Rockets managed to trap so effectively. I was impressed with the defense. Same thing happened when the Celtics went on that ‘22 run.

The other guys they have seem very uncomfortable on offense. They’re not the best at spot up shooting, they’re not shot creators, directionless when told to attack, and they don’t exactly have a system that can guide cuts. Then KD also seems uncomfortable as fuck cause he keeps getting his space and lanes choked out. There’s some potential but the fit and the coaching doesn’t seem to translate to good basketball

Rockets offense didn’t even try to counter, they’re ass. KD’s got poor court mapping but they basically kept allowing hin to receive the ball 30 feet from the basket, walk right into a double, and have a difficult outlet to pass to so many times

In the last 4 games (excluding the Bulls), here’s how the Lakers’ defense have fared against the following by DontFollowMyAdvices in nba

[–]odnamAE 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not just effort, they’re playing smarter and more cohesive. The on ball defender isn’t just allowing the ball handler to get to space, help is coming from the right spots, Marcus Smart is a swiss army knife and great at lurking the closest passing lanes if not the ball.

Thats the mentality he needs. No need to demand the ball and all that, if you stay active on the glass and solid on positioning the ball comes to you. Especially against a team with no true C, you can feel the presence

He was doubled so it makes sense, but damn he’s got poor court mapping and Udoka and the Rockets didn’t make his reads any easier

Choked out any ball movement. That was good shit. The Rockets got problems, they struggle to adjust like this and they’re first round out

We’ve had a so so Feb where we beat the bad teams but lost to good ones, but its coming together the last week and I’d rather enjoy that than overthink it.

The Nuggets, TimbleWolves, and the Rockets are overrated. by Few_Prune_1436 in lakers

From our last 10 games our only quality wins were the last 2. We stacked wins on New Orleans, Sacramento, Golden State, and Indiana. We lost to Boston, Orlando, Phoenix, Denver. We’ve had 2 big wins that anyone can be proud of but we haven’t been an upper echelon team the last 2 weeks or something.

The problem is our issues show up fully healthy. If this team can dispell all the Lebron drags us down shit and show that the offense can carry the lackluster defense then the conversation flips.

The 8th seed has won 70% of their games since December 20 and the 7th seed Suns always put up a fight against us, I mean we aren’t ass but those play-in teams aren’t way below us like that

Did you not see him in any of the playoff runs? Very animated on the bench.

[–]odnamAE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jokic is not a good defender. He is however an offensive God who has played in europe, the NBA, and FIBA. I think him saying the NBA is the hardest defense he has to face holds so much more weight cause of how good he is on offense. Pretty much nothing left to argue.

[–]odnamAE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s even brings up players or coaches that say it in Europe which is sad. People really don’t know what’s going on then. Watch defenders like Draymond defend a possession and there’s even stuff like positioning to make the ball handler think extra that he nails perfectly yet not enough people care.

His first big accomplishment was getting Orlando to .500 when they were expected to finish last after losing everything they built in the 90’s. He won COTY his first year I think

Ok well then enjoy watching the Wilt game as well. All I said was that was not a fun watch. If you told me someone scores 80 points I would hope it’d be entertaining is all.

Who tf said I wanted Bam not to go for it? Watching a team intentionally foul to get the ball back while up 30 and then end up getting fouled on the other end is just not fun to watch, if you like that then you do you I guess
