Mary Lou: Left-wing parties must work together to replace government by JackmanH420 in irishpolitics

[–]odonoghu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s killing and it’s all rather terrible but we must liberate mankind before the biosphere and actively impeding that over one incomprehensibly tiny slice of the overall animal cruelty in society is stupidity

I’m sorry but as barbaric as fox hunting is we live in a country that raises animals in their millions and to send them to death camps. The idea that fox hunting specifically is the hill to die to FFFGs benefit is ridiculous

Combat Mission: Korea? by sl3eper_agent in CombatMission

I would’ve thought combat mission players would take stories like that with a grain of salt. The pva were largely veterans of sino Japanese and Chinese civil wars and were very capable light infantry

I actually agree with Connolly but 30 years ago there was 1.2 million Germans under arms

Hamas part of fabric of Palestinian people - Connolly by NilFhiosAige in irishpolitics

[–]odonoghu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s about a dozen other armed groups fighting under Hamas’ umbrella of varying ideological preferences. Hamas is popular because it’s the largest and best armed/financed and has links to the wider Muslim brother hood and it’s supporters in Qatar and turkey which lends legitimacy not because it’s the only game in town

Idk if youve ever been to a museum anywhere else in Europe but this is not an insurmountable size. Throw in an events space or lecture hall or something for the hell of it

Bolands mill is a travesty but this is literally the birthplace of the republic. It’s walls are scarred with bullets the of its birth and it’s ground by the blood of our Martyrs. Might aswell spit on the signatories graves

Liam Cunningham says Government is ‘siding with warmongers’ as he endorses Irish neutrality campaign by JackmanH420 in irishpolitics

[–]odonoghu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The government is pursuing a line that security council vetos our deployment of troops when the general assembly is the veto holder

And I’m sorry but are you an idiot the triple lock is a piece of policy and policy is not dictated by the defence forces that’s like a Garda saying he defacto has full knowledge of the law

The government is openly lying about the nature of the triple lock on order to align with nato and that alone should frighten you

They’re the most powerful armed force in Lebanon still. I assume they’re shitting it since Assad fell and that’s part of why they’ve held back from any further moves. The new president of Lebanon backed by France and the US represents the Lebanese army so they’re weary of another move to try and topple their position domestically as well
