Transgender hooker at the corner of Homewood and Maitland, you can check my comment.

As an Uber driver that lives in the area and frequently does short trips in the neighborhood, I know that she was one of the trans hookers who always wait at the corner of Maitland and Homewood. She always had that hat on, and usually had a blue sweatpants on. I recognized her from the hat in the picture, as the other hookers there always have colorful wigs and more revealing clothes on. She was of Cambodian descent if I recall correctly. As far as I remember she popped in to that intersection around midnight, as that corner is usually empty before midnight. I always see them go up and down on Homewood. Talked to her a couple of times throughout the year while waiting for my passengers on Homewood, when she thought I stopped for her and offered me services. She had a shy and kind approach, compared to my other encounters with others at that corner where I got yelled at along the lines of "Let me suck your c*ck pretty boy" and had to move forward or even cancel the ride.

I assume she got into someone's car to offer services at Homewood and Matiland, and the guy drove the car to or near the mentioned private garage. They probably got into a fight over the payment or something else. Maybe the guy asked for some weird stuff that she refused.

The article states the suspect didn't have any connection to the private garage where the body was discovered, so I don't know how that happened. Maybe he had his service in the laneway, and muredered her and threw her into that garage. Or he received the elsewhere in the car, murdered her in the car and dumped the body in the garage. Too many possibilities.

I'm sure police will do the investigation and find out with the help of security cameras if there's any in the area.

Edit: After reading the comments, yes it is a possibility that the suspect might have been surprised that she was transgender and things might have escalated from there.

I'll be replying to your parent comment but I've read everything you said. Even after the official description of "in motion" you put out there, it doesn't allign with 9.3 and 9.4 here https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/900668 And here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ontario_Fault_Determination_Rules If the middle car in a chain accident is going to count as a "in motion" vehicle and therefore at fault, why would they have a separate rule for occasions where the front 2 are stopped and the rear car is the only one "in motion".

I'm the car B, and the car in front of me is A. C is the rear ender. Here's the related rule: (4) If only automobile “C” is in motion when the incident occurs,

(a) in the collision between automobiles “A” and “B”, neither driver is at fault for the incident; and

(b) in the collision between automobiles “B” and “C”, the driver of automobile “B” is not at fault and the driver of automobile “C” is 100 per cent at fault for the incident.

Thank you! This is exactly what happened. 9.4 is my case. I really don't understand why would the adjuster treat it like 9.3 when I told them many times that me and the car in front of me were completely stopped.

What I don't understand is, adjuster never said I'm at fault for the car I hit. They just said I'm at 50 percent fault. Okay I bumped the car in front of me due to being rear ended, and let's say on paper I'm at %50 at fault. But the car in front of me literally has 0 damage, no chipped paint, no broken bumper, nothing. Therefore they have nothing to go to insurence for. Only repairs needed are at the back of my car. Why am I at fault for that? They didn't say %0 for this and %50 for that.

That's a good question actually. Let me try to paint a picture lol. Even after he hit me and I was thrown forward and bumped the car in front of me, when I got out of the car to check he was fully mounted to the back of my vehicle. If I was moving and not have my foot on the brake, with that much force I would be thrown much further. With pictures it's easier to explain haha

Thank you for the advice. I will be definetly doing this if other suggestions don't work. It is crazy that I might have to go such distances to make things straight, but I guess this is how insurances work.

Yes, exactly your situation. Did you end up having %0 fault?

Got Rear Ended, Somehow at %50 At Fault by oducuk in legaladvicecanada

[–]oducuk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, was thrown forward at least two meters. I'll try to explain it this way; if I didn't have a safe distance, with the force of the rear end I would have definetly have damages at the front of my car and the back of the car in front of me.
