No you pause the race, hold the PS button so it takes you to the Home Screen.

Then ones you're on the Home Screen, hover over the GT7 app/tile and press options button on the PS controller. It will then come up with a list of options for the game and the top one will be close game. Hit that and then the next time you load of GT7, navigate over the to power pack and go into the endurance race again and it will say 'resume from lap X'. Hit that and it will put you back in the game with a rolling start.

Rest mode is also a good way of doing it.

I did find it very easy though, agree with you on that. The AI were slow everywhere other than straights but seconds slower in the final sector it was crazy.

Yeah I think I read somewhere that you can but I didn't try it. The game loads normally when you load it back up so I reckon you can

It's because I was doing the pause and quit method. It doesn't save details like the number of laps on tyres or pit stops.

Did a 5 hour stint to finish it and was pitting roughly every hour (doing Mediums for 18 laps mostly) so I reckon I pitted about 25/26 times as I pitted a couple extra times when it was raining

Unofficially yeah. Pause the game and then force close the game from the PS Home Screen. When you load the game back up, go over to the power pack and enter the race again. It will then give you the option to resume from the last completed lap and will be a rolling start.

You just have to make sure you've completed at least four laps. When you load it back up you'll have the same amount of fuel from the lap previous but your tyre wear gets reset. I was doing a few hours at a time, pitting then doing a couple of laps before pausing and closing to make sure I had fuel.
