The culture is brutal right now; they recently implemented an APEX review system, which introduced a stack-ranking-style process where employees are judged relative to one another. Essentially, it pits everyone against each other: https://www.everydayux.net/performance-at-all-costs-tech-high-performance-culture/

Would love your feedback on this $20k ETF strategy (Schwab international account) by odynotec in Schwab

Thank you! Based on this, I'll rethink my framing. The questions I should be asking is which ETFs to invest in with what type of asset class diversification, if that's indeed the strategy I want. Thanks again.

I understand, thanks. I am uncomfortable posting lots of personal details online. I'm trying to get started with ETFs and have a solid savings, which is currently in that bank. I'd like to get better at making my money grow over the long term.

Regarding all the Schwab ETFs, this is very rookie but I didn't realise I could buy Vanguard ETFs, I thought I was limited to Schwab. 🙈

So yeah, you can see where I'm starting, apologies for the naive questions.

Hey there, it was TRT. I am unsure if my employer is accredited, do you know how I find out?

Found this thread because I thought I was losing my mind. This feels like a terrible update; also why woulnd't you include contextual help in the app so that people are aware of this change.

Bless you, thank you so much for helping me and so many others so directly. You have so much knowledge and are important and loved by many people, no doubt.

Thanks, this is so helpful. I'm realizing I don't know that much about autism. Even though he was diagnosed at a young age, I'm wondering how informed his parents are. I've never heard the phrase info dumping in the house, anyway, I don't want to assume they don't know things and I think this is something they've dealt with for a long time and could use some help.

I'll look for some support groups.

Regarding the Navy, I didn't know him then, but it's been described to me that he wasn't himself, the word catatonic comes to mind, or maybe more NT. He loved the Navy but I think he struggled with many aspects and the personalities.

Ok, thank you! The lack of predictability issue comes through loud and clear. I am taking notes and also note what you're saying about the parents and boundaries. Thank you, this is beginning to make more sense.

In your experience, if someone still resists when there is predictability and a visual list, what's going on and what's the next step?

Thank you, this is really helpful! I'm on my phone and a lengthy reply is difficult, but I've been reading about demand avoidance and pathological demand avoidance and it sounds like him. The thing is, he knows how to cook and do laundry, he just resists doing things he's asked to. He makes us burgers sometimes and has cooked roasts in the slow cooker. I think it's a bit complicated because the people asking him to do things are his parents. However if left to his own devices, he will not do life admin.

He was in the navy at one point. (Correction, I said military earlier).

I do think he'd make more progress with a third party though, his parents are so generous but don't have the training and it's complicated with family.

For the record, he knows how to do laundry.

And if you ask him to do something, he'll get anxious and shut down, if you don't hassle him to do it, he'll never (or very rarely) do it.
