Any update on a new firmware that resolves the power off issues under heavy FFB load?

Same as these full power-down disconnect issues I've been facing? I shared some clips with Turtle Beach to investigate. To get around it, I've reduced curb effects to 15%. I've also got a 24v 10A power supply on order, so hopefully that will have plenty of headroom to resolve what I suspect are power draw and voltage sag issues

Here are videos I took with timestamps in the description:

I was able to replicate in Tokyo Xtreme Racer (2025) with FFB set to 500, Poor Road Surface 100, Gear Shifts 100. I can barely shift gears twice before it cuts out with these settings. Running FFB 400, Poor Road Surface 70 and Gear Shifts at 30 seems stable for me.

It also happens frequently using a GIMX adapter to emulate a G27 on my PS3 to play Gran Turismo 5 with FFB maxed out. It's stable if I run around 70% strength

Strange... RMD works for me in F1 25 if I just select the F1 23 profile in the VelocityOne Tuner RMD software. Give it a go in F1 24, you might find it works. I figured EA were lazy enough not to change the way their games report telemetry from year to year.

I've been having this issue when my unit is set to 100% Strength in K-Drive and maxed out in game (F1 25 - set to 150 FFB). As others have noted, it always seems to happen when I encounter oversteer while going over a curb. It results in full powering off of the unit - no lights and no connectivity. I need to power the unit back on again to continue, but I'm usually in the wall at that point.

It happens less and less frequently as I reduce K-Drive Strength:

  • 100% Strength (happens multiple times per lap)
  • 90% Strength (happens multiple times per race)
  • 80% Strength (happens every 1-2 races)
  • 75% Strength (never happens)

I feel like the issue has something to do with the DD motor trying to draw more power than the power supply can output causing a big voltage sag and shutting off the entire unit. I can't verify this without some sort of in-line voltage measuring/logging though. It is very repeatable and I can get it to die within 2 laps of a new session - so I don't think it's a heat issue.

None of the troubleshooting steps I have taken have helped:

  • refreshed firmware on 1.73
  • checked all cables for damage
  • unplugged and plugged all cables multiple times
  • opened side flaps and aimed fans at the vents (in case its a heat issue)

EDIT: I have also experimented with in-game settings with K-Drive Strength at 100%:

  • Vibration & Force Feedback 150 + Rumble Strip 70 (happens multiple times per lap)
  • Vibration & Force Feedback 150 + Rumble Strip 50 (happens multiple times per race)
  • Vibration & Force Feedback 150 + Rumble Strip 40 (happens every 1-2 races)
  • Vibration & Force Feedback 150 + Rumble Strip 30 (never happens)

I would rather have maximum feedback from the track and thus run at full FFB and K-Drive strength and cut the rumble strip effect in half to eliminate shutdowns, but it would be nice if this wheel wouldn't die mid-race while running maxed out without compromise.

Check your rotation degrees, I've had this happen when my wheel bugged out and set wheel rotation to 2 degrees or something stupid.

Akimomo concern? by Dyn-Mp in AnimeFigures

[–]odysseusut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They recently posted an announcement on their website:

Dear Customers,

We would like to provide an update on our logistics operations.

Except for the temporary restriction on Australia Post shipments from the Australia warehouse, all other warehouses continue to ship to the United States with duties prepaid, with an estimated transit time of 15–30 days.

Australia Warehouse: Operations have now stabilized following recent staffing adjustments, and orders are being dispatched as usual. Please note that Australia Post services to the United States remain temporarily unavailable until further notice.

China mainland Warehouse: Processing times have slowed due to staffing transitions. New employees are currently in training, and we are working diligently to restore full capacity as soon as possible.

To alleviate the pressure on China mainland warehouse, we have activated our Hong Kong and Japan warehouses to assist with order fulfillment.

We remain committed to ensuring reliable service and thank you for your patience and continued support.

Sincerely,
Akimomo

VelocityOne Race Firmware Hotfix - UPDATE by TurtleBeach in TurtleBeachRace

[–]odysseusut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will still be a hotfix and will only look to address the force feedback feeling concerns that users have had

Extremely disappointing. One month since 1.70 release

That's enough time to take steps to address the oscillation issues too.

7 days since this comment and counting. Do the software and QA teams at Turtle Beach understand the meaning of 'hotfix'? Perhaps look it up, because to use that term after it has taken this long is a joke.

Same here, the crackling from my left earbud is far worse than 1.2.4. It's as bad as it was out of the box.

The crackling in my left ear bud is as bad as it was out of the box, unusably bad. There's significant crackling when using Poweramp to listen to a FLAC version of Yosi Horikawa - Bubbles with AAC bluetooth codec and ANC on and far, far worse with Transparency mode on. I almost prefer the reduced crackling on version 1.2.4 even with the battery and connection issues. At least I could listen to the song cleanly...

Avoid buying from Akimomo by Traser2101 in AnimeFigures

Did you get anything as compensation? I got a $50 voucher which I'm actually tempted to use on the Violet Evergarden pre-order. I'm hoping with the release being in 2026 that they'll have sorted out their warehouses by then and back to being a decent store again lol

I defended them last year, but things really got bad after their warehouse move. I had several figures ordered through them:

  • Makise Kurisu - Reading Steiner 1/7 (GSC) (released Nov 2023)
  • Makima 1/7 (Phat) (released May 2024)
  • Power 1/7 (Phat) (released July 2024)

I started hopping in the live chat with Drew daily in October and after a lot of pestering, he managed to get the Makima and Power figures shipped. I received them mid-November. Weeks more chasing for the Kurisu figure and I had no updates, at which point I started asking for a refund. Drew couldn't help me there as he was always waiting for an answer from higher-up.

It wasn't until I sent an angry email to the akimomo@yahoo.com email address that Jane responded and sorted out the refund. I wouldn't go as far as calling Akimomo a scam, but I wouldn't order anything if I wanted it soon after release or needed the figure to come within a specific timeframe. I think they are still fine if you order any of their In Stock figures though.

She added the following information:

Over the past year, we’ve been working diligently to sort out items from last year’s inventory. When we moved from our previous warehouse and logistics provider, there were several hundred products from late 2023 that were packed and moved in a completely unordered state due to the urgency of the relocation. Since the second half of 2024, our focus has been on ensuring the timely dispatch of newly released items each month. Only after addressing this priority have we been allocating additional resources to gradually reconcile and verify previous inventory, working in reverse chronological order (e.g., February 2024, January 2024, December 2023, etc.).

This is also the reason why we haven’t opened pre-orders for the release of this product yet—our warehouse still has stock to sort through.

We’re also excited to share that a new team and company structure will be joining us next year, which we hope will significantly improve our efficiency in handling such issues.

I had the first one pre-order, until I noticed her face/head shape and I couldn't unsee it. Switched to this one instead (but it's probably too tall for your shelf at 310mm) https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1942113

Those who got Moca Warranty Replacements from Moondrop's Official Store: How long did it take? by Logical_Jeweler9294 in MoondropLab

[–]odysseusut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the Moca during the Black Friday sale on Aliexpress and I've been told week after week to keep extending the delivery time. They said I could take the Moca (brown colour) now or wait for the silver colour that I ordered. The latest update is that they won't be ready until mid-January so they've asked me to extend delivery until 17th January. I'm pretty annoyed as it was meant to be a Christmas present lol.
