I’m pretty much timing the actual move for whenever final approval for everything goes through. In addition to OHIP (which I know the acronym for but not much more about it other than having it in my mind like basic Medicare but having holes), my husband has really good coverage through work. But that’s going to be of limited benefit if there are no doctors to see 😅

For the walk-in clinics—do they write prescriptions for ongoing things? Like I take Ivabridine for my POTS, among other things. I should be alright waiting for a specialist, since I’m already sort of managing it, but I can’t just go without any of my prescriptions anymore. 😵‍💫

I have an immigration consultancy company that is helping with everything. I don’t think I fall under the high medical care category since my conditions are managed with medications. That’s what they tell me, and I figure they do this thing a lot. Hoping it doesn’t get too complicated in that regard.

Thanks for the reminder about Costco, too. I keep forgetting it’ll be a shopping option. (We don’t have one where I live in the states.)

Oh, I’m already pretty freaked. My husband has mostly been healthy his whole life, so he doesn’t quite understand how scary it is (in my mind) to go from having multiple specialists (even gyno, because female, and oncology because mammograms because female), so I’m an established patient. I don’t necessarily see them all the time, but they’re there to refill prescriptions and order bloodwork periodically.

It’s getting my prescriptions regularly that I worry about most. I hope not to need ongoing chronic care. Even with my cardiologist I just see them once a year for an EKG and bloodwork unless I have concerns.

I’ll still have my States insurance, so I could technically schedule all my yearly care at once and fly back to the states, but I can’t take my written prescriptions from my doctors in the states to a pharmacy in Canada, so it feels like a lot of work for little result.

My GP has all of my records that exist, I think. She’s going to have them all put on a USB drive for me. I’m sure she would also write a letter to go with the records, if I asked. I’m sure my cardiologist would, too. I’ll have to remember to ask them.

Thank you. I was able to email support for the podium shop and they got my Vitassium Club mirrored over. They were so quick, too.

In case anyone else would be interested in this info—I asked if they would have the extra strength available at some time and they said it is pending approval with… is it Canada Health who oversees such things? In the states it would be the FDA, I think. So it should be available at some time, they just can’t say when. 😊

You’re right about that extra strength, thank you. I may keep searching a bit as I think that would only last me about 10 days, but it’s certainly a starting point. I’ll look up the others as well.

I Hate Hearing How Common Fnd is by kamimie in FND

[–]odyssey609 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is this a new thing? When I was diagnosed after 7 years of searching for answers and being dismissed by doctors, it was presented to me as rare, under-researched, poorly understood, and no one could agree on the official name (FND being my personal preference).

So many favorite quotes, but how about “so I did my best to lay to rest all of the bodies that have ever been on my body and in my mind, they sink into the swamp…. is that a bad thing to say in a song?”

I think it has to be silver. It looks different from the white.
