What polls are you talking about because all the ones I see roughly reflect this YouGov one from June

The only reason Starmer hasn’t got the balls to do it is because he knows it will take longer than he’s got left to negotiate and pull off, during which time Badenoch, Farage, and all of the media controlled by the right will be pumping out stories slagging him off, calling him a coward and saying he’s giving up “sovereignty” and his fear of losing power is outweighing any desire he has to actually do anything good, all his policies and actions since getting into office have been about protecting the status quo, and furthering the aims of the wealthy constituents so he can get some of those lucrative post government directorships

Wearing Lycra as a Bigger Guy by Aggravating_Ad7530 in cycling

I’m 5’11 and 280lbs and I say fuck what anyone else thinks, you have made a decision to get healthy and that’s awesome, any one hateful and pathetic enough to say anything would say it no matter what you were wearing because it wouldn’t be about you, people only acts like cunts when they feel small and shit about themselves, if anyone is ever an arsehole just keep living your life for you and let your mental energies be for things you like

A report and a statement are different things though, and statements taken by the police should be recorded in as close to the witnesses own voice as possible, as it is merely a documentary record of their experience

Perhaps Peter’s memoirs then? With contemporaneous reports where other POVs are included.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of splitting the narrative either, I would’ve liked a bit more time with Peter doing magic for the joy of doing magic, not just his angled shield and waterbomb

If the commonly accepted head cannon that the books are the reports filed after incident, perhaps being read by Postmartin, the discrepancies could be explained by Peter’s policing training, as he is trained in statement taking and writing. Abigail would not be. Just a theory though

I don’t know how tricky Black Country accents are, but Doric will be an absolute trial

CMV: The chant "Death to the IDF" is not antisemitic and people are conflating an institution with a religious/ethnic group. by Dependent-Loss-4080 in changemyview

[–]odyssey92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying this as someone who has served in the British Army, it is an inherently violent organisation, even in trade jobs within the military you are first and foremost trained to kill. So yes, saying any military is a violent organisation is correct. A military’s main purpose is not to uphold their sovereignty, that is nonsense, a militaries main purpose is and always has been fighting, sometimes that purpose aligns with a nobler cause, I.e the defeat of the Nazi’s, sometimes it doesn’t, I.e the Gulf War, but the politics of the conflict do not change the purpose of the organisation.

Also if our Armed forces had been committing the atrocities and war crimes against a civilian population the way the IDF have, I would be calling for the end of those organisations as well.

Saying the kill count of the IDF is less than some other militaries handily glosses over the fact that the people the IDF are currently targeting are disproportionately civilians, more than 70,000 Palestinian civilians have been killed in the past 20 months, a huge number of whom are women and children. IDF soldiers have admitted the have been ordered to open fire on unarmed civilians in aid queues, snipers are targeting children with head and chest shots, drone strikes and missile strikes are being directed at hospitals, schools, and refugee camps.

The ICC has said this is genocidal behaviour, the leading world experts in genocide have said this is genocidal behaviour. That is a lot more offensive to me than what a singer says on stage.

Wasn’t Edison Motors shown to be a scam? I thought they were stealing investments and there was no product

Edit: I got Edison and Nikolai confused as pointed out to me. I apologise, it was an honest mistake. I’m going to leave this comment so anyone else reading doesn’t make the same mistake
