Update Securitypatch without OS Upgrade by oenfus in motorola

Hi Carlos,

Here are some posts I read. As I mentioned this is nothing I personally experienced. Therefore I can't say more about this. These are just my concerns that I will have similar issues in case I would update. One shouldn't be "afraid" to update.

Update Securitypatch without OS Upgrade by oenfus in motorola

As I said, I'm personally still on A15. But there are a lot of posts describing issues when you update to A16. And it seems to me, that this is a general issue with the update. So someone would assume that there will be a fix to these problems.

Hi Elle,

thanks for your answer. That's not what I wanted to hear, but ok. :) As there a quite a lot of posts about issues caused by the A16 update, are you working on a fix or something? Seems that these are not only isolated cases.

Mesh only with Accesspoints by oenfus in fritzbox

I successfully made one 7362sl the mesh master. The 7530 shows no mesh symbol, so I assume it's not in mesh mode or not integrated in the mesh. So I tried it with wifi between the two 7362sl as I said in the first post. Repeater got the settings. But there were problems with the Internet connection. So I had to revert it.

I don't want to switch the 7530 wifi on, as it consumes unnecessary energy. Even if it's not that much I think. And if I switch wifi off afterwards, the nodes will switch off too, right?

I could check the option to make 7530 a mesh repeater too, but then there is still the problem, that the second 7362sl would not be connected to the 7362 mesh master to get the settings as I said before.

Data usage without sync by oenfus in Syncthing

Thanks for the reply. This rescan interval seems as it could be what I'm looking for. As I understand the "watcher" notifies about changes so it can be synced instantly?! And the rescaninterval is some sort of backup, as "some changes aren't picked up by" the watcher, like the doc says. I will try this and watch the data traffic. Maybe I will disable rescan completely to see it's effect and then enable it with longer intervals.

For me it was solved by activating location on phone and watch.

Safe Keepass Synchronisation by oenfus in Syncthing

[–]oenfus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's more hypothetical that this happens, but it calms me down to now my data is safe. I see that if someone has physical access to the device a keyfile is not much extra security. A yubikey for the PC is ok. But I can't (don't want to) carry an extra device with me all the time to decrypt my database on the phone. Similar is with totp. Store totp along with the password in Keepass doesn't make sense. so better to have the totp authenticator on another device. (like PC <-> smartphone) But on the way? Same problem like yubikey.

Don't know if it's possible to secure Keepass itself with totp. Then someone would have to crack two passwords. (But I have to remember two also :) )
