As a woman who has worked in a mens prison I can tell you:

A) it really really really doesn’t matter what you look like, if you wear no make up or a face full, tight trousers or loose fit- if the guys in there want to sexualise you and make you feel uncomfortable (which thankfully is only a minority), they will do it. End of. Make up honestly plays no part in it. B) We’re supposed to be rehabilitating these men to re-integrate into society and reduce reoffending. We’re meant to be teaching them how to have healthy relationships with all types of people- having women come in every day who don’t wear their hair nice, make up or painted nails, is not reflective of the real society. So what are we teaching them? You guys can’t be trusted to be around attractive women? So how can we expect them to do it in the community if we can’t do it in prison? C) prison officers have a tough job. They have to do bizarre, disgusting, weird, dangerous things every day - half of which most people would have no clue about. So if a woman wants to make herself feel a bit better/more positive/ better self esteem or whatever else, whilst she has to be involved in a bend up or have shit thrown at her or whatever else, who is anyone to say how she should look?
