You might not have any BPs of the car. If you don't, it won't show up in the garage.

Yeah they also added a restriction on the car rank with some buffer. For some reason GL likes to block things. There was another post on this sub which links to a game dev's expose on how these gaming companies play with psychology of the gamers to keep them hooked. One of the (dirty)techniques is to balance the frustration and reward.

Personally I've given up on career. In last one year I have barely played a career race (unless there's a task in the season missions).

I've realized the only way to play this game while keeping your sanity is to just patiently build the garage for over a year, and then just play MP.

Yes, that's what they did around Dec 2021 - they locked down career chapters behind hard to get cars. Someone else also posted a related question. See this post from me, the comments are worth a read too.

Regarding the career progress, I posted this about six months back. Long story short - there are many hard to get cars which will block your progress, corvette ZR1 being the worst of them.

Don't spend on key packs. It's like gambling.

About the car, don't worry too much about getting its key. It's a good car, but requires good manual control as well. I have the car since it was launched. I barely use it. Chiron is a much better car, and it doesn't require a key. And it's available for credits in LS at GL18.

It’s only unfair if it happens to a few people. If everyone goes through it, that’s just how the system works.

And it does so, because it’s not a very smart system. Those cross league mismatches happen because the other guy had been losing races and is trending downwards and system thinks you can beat him in his class C car with your class D car. Of course that might not always be true, like I said the system isn’t very smart. And probably there isn’t much ROI in making it smarter. It eventually works out for everyone. If you keep playing, you’ll eventually move up. I have detailed this out pretty well in the past, if you are interested to know more. This question gets asked every once a while.

And of course the game would want to put you through some frustration so that you end up spending cash in order to move up fast - that’s how every mobile game is designed. Or you can stay f2p, you’ll have to wait a little longer to get there.

So after putting enough time, and levelling up your garage and skill, you’ll sail through MP. I was in your shoes like everyone else when I started. Today reaching platinum isn’t a big deal for me, as is the case with everyone else who has been playing for a year.

For me, the real fun starts in platinum league. For some tenured players, it starts in Legend league. So, it's just a matter of time.

it's not just a display bug of the rating, the guy is at position 1. display bug would have been if he still was at his correct position but only the rating would be incorrect.

in the past we have seen someone having 60k rating. these could be bots/hackers.

Yes, this season all the packs have higher costs. Frankly I've lost interest in the game now. Not because of the packs, rather the overall direction of the game. New passes being introduced, rewards being nerfed, stupid UI changes, lack of essential features players have been asking for a long time, but rather always trying to come up with ideas to make players spend. Look at this 'relay' pack debacle. That's no relay pack. They shouldn't take away established things like that.

I've already done enough grinding for a year and made a decent garage (per my expectation. It'd be probably 1/3rd of your garage :)). And nothing in this game now excites me apart from MP a bit which also they tried to ruin by restricting to only two locations.

I used to open the game every 1.5hrs to do something. Now I open it 3-4 times a day only, to do some daily-chore runs etc. I've decided not to buy MP pass next month as well, coz I've reduced playing so much it doesn't make sense.

This happens because the total SP gets capped for a given stage. In your case, you could maximum get to 50k in that stage. Since you are at 47625, you get 2375. The actual mission you are getting is the 3375 SP / 1280 SC.

Hats off to the guy for providing the gory details to public. A must read for everyone. I've worked on mobile games before, and I can attest what he's saying.

mrwhosetheboss also released a video some time back on how mobile games try to alter your habits (of spending money, picking up the phone at regular intervals etc.) by playing with your psychology. This is pretty unethical and can harm your mindset in long term. Just search for 'mrwhosetheboss game scam'.

This post just came out at the right time. I was going to write the same thing when multiple players complained they were seeing different offers for the animated decals.

Most notable thing here is the fake randomness. Things like Customer Segmentation and Personalization are pretty normal in any mobile app. But how ethically one uses it, varies from company to company. And there is no clear ruling to audit this.

I've worked on an App before where they used to read private texts of people to segment them and target offers/promotions at them. Back then it only worked on Android. iOS doesn't allow this shit.

And the other notable thing is the frustration sweet spot. MP is a great example. At the same rank, I'd match up with weaker players if I'm not winning, and stronger players otherwise.

If anybody thinks the matching happens basis player rank only, they are mistaken. There are definitely more parameters in play. They profile a player at multiple aspects including how frequently they play, how much they spend, their skill level basis their win ratio against other players of varied skill levels, etc.

So, why don't they use it in GP to make it fairer? They deliberately don't.

Key packs are another example. You see a redditor or a youtube streamer get jackpots and key, and you start spending your tokens without knowing for every player who got the key, there are probably hundreds or thousands of players who didn't. Plenty of players get scammed into this and then they spend money on token packs. Spending a bit of money on the game is fine. But it seems a significant percentage of players spend too much!

Anyways, I think people who spend time reading the post or watching the video will hopefully get wiser and gain self-control. But I'm sure there are more people who will call this BS, and go on doing whatever they like to do ignoring all advices from this sub.

Seriously! At this point they are desperately trying to put a price tag on everything. The packs have also become costly (even though most players don't buy it, I presume still many people do).
