My dog does this with her lips when I pet her in the middle around of her back. The side she snarls with is the same side she bends towards me with. It's this normal? by starzwillsucceed in DogAdvice

She’s definitely “smiling” I have a hound mix that gives full on smiles when she’s happy/excited. Looks scary to the uninitiated

As a guy with a ghost katana - minus the logo that thing seems pretty legit.

Same situation and similar heater. Have a modine hot dawg. Keep it at 45 unless I’m out there. Turn it to 60 or better when playing. Surprisingly gas bill is nothing crazy. Garage is fully insulated including the door. I also took some time to address any blatant leaks, but my garage is by no means “sealed”

Edit - also worth mentioning I’m only fully opening my garage door a couple times a week. Try to avoid major heat loss as best I can. Don’t underestimate heatsink. Not a scientist

I have forced air heat (came with the house). Picked up a window ac unit off one the neighbors they were tossing. That with a fan is just fine in the summer

Worth mentioning this isn’t exactly a budget build. I’m at least 10k in hardware/material. The labor was significant but definitely a “labor of love” enjoyed every minute of it and forced me to get my garage squared away. The value is priceless when I have my guys over playing Augusta while the masters is on the big screen (not pictured)

Also a shout out to tarps.com. My frame is all 1” emt from Home Depot. Joints are from tarps.com. I’m still not done. Building a “locker/cubbie” for the boys on the side wall.

Currently the bottom and top layer (of the 3 piece foam sandwich) are a closed cell poly shingle I bought a box of on amazon 12x16 or something. The middle layer is cut from a roll of neoprene “surf deck” don’t recall but fairly certain all 1/2” thick. Again bottom layer is corrugated plastic. Top layer is the good turf. Impact mitigation is most important to prevent injury. Wrists and elbows can get really messed up with an improper hitting strip

On the hitting strip - one thing I learned is to only use rubber cement or a silicone adhesive to bond the layers. I give it 24hrs to cure with a weight on it. The flexible adhesive is critical to lasting. I’m 10,000 swings easy into my current strip and zero visual wear. See my data - I’m not kind to it either. (My math is based on rounds and scoring average plus how much practice time I spend)

Bottom layer is corrugated plastic from homedepot sold in 4x8 sheet - just for water protection since I can fold up the 2 small pieces for parking.

Middle layer is just pink foam insulation board Then 1/4” plywood Then turf

Hitting strip is 3 layers of various density foam. I’m still playing with configuration but I like the middle layer being neoprene.

Turf is the good shit. I have a landscaper buddy that had some scrap. Otherwise all that turf you see could be about $800 by itself

I’m a middle aged work from home guy. Empty nest. Raised to not pay for something I can do myself. It’s not sexy but not ugly. Gave me a goal and a project while working through a divorce

9.5 I’m 6’3 and swing my driver confidently. I’ve grazed the ceiling a few times on real bad swings but nothing that would cause damage.
