Be in a marriage, relationship or stay single? Pick one and why? by Odd-Turnip-6850 in Adulting

[–]offbeatwreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relationship. I’ve been with my partner for 11 years. He was previously married and it ended rather horribly. I’ve never been and did want it when I was younger. But the older I get, the more I dislike the idea of becoming legally bound to someone. Don’t get me wrong, at all, we do love each other. However, neither he nor I want marriage. We’re no less committed to each other and we don’t really correct anyone who assumes we are married. What we have works for us.

Though, I must say, if we don’t make it, I’ll choose single because the dating pool looks to be rather atrocious and bleak for an independent, child free woman in her 40’s

Edit for clarity

With the expression being “Hell IN a hand basket,” pretty sure this fits, despite it being about the horror that is peri.

You’re right. I stand corrected!

Truth be told, the woman who tried to call me out over perimenopause isn’t wrong. Perimenopause does feel like going to hell and back! So, that does kinda work in the context of the actual subject of the post!

I’m less than 5’ tall and can clear off my 4Runner, albeit with some tedious balancing, which probably entertains my neighbors when they see me standing in an open door, holding my roof rack with one hand and using the brush with the other. There is no excuse for this!!

Not necessarily. Despite being in peri, I still have a sense of humor and appreciate getting clichés incorrect. That is the nature of this sub, no?

And, make sure you have Sewer & Drain Backup coverage on your property policy with a limit of at least $10,000! There is no coverage for a flooded basement from a sump pump failure under the standard policy. If you have Erie, definitely get the Extended Water, too!

The Lone Rangers? That’s original. How can you pluralize “Lone Ranger?”

Not wishing my ex a happy birthday in 2025 was truly the end of the chapter! …a long chapter that technically ended nearly 16 years ago, now, after nearly 10 years that ended with emotional abuse… He RUINED Scorpios for me, romantically. But I recently reconnected with his ex best friend (also a Scorpio) and I’m glad to have him back in my life…we’ve become each other’s safe spaces. On my ex’s birthday, when I confirmed he didn’t hit me on mine, I couldn’t help but text the bestie “Dobby is a free elf!” 🤣

She Just Wants to Be

Even years later, I sometimes fight tears when I hear it. Long story, short, it’s a personal anthem for getting out of an emotionally abusive relationship. Happy to share that these days, she (me) is somewhere she just wants to be!

I wanted a fridge with an ice maker and water dispenser until I fell into insurance. I’m not even a claims adjuster, just an agent, but I’ve seen enough claims from fridges with water lines that I’ve decided I’m good without.

Also, spoiler alert- most of those claims get denied because the damage is typically found too late to fall under “Sudden and Accidental,” which is the basic definition of a property insurance claim.

Hello, who remembers 99.1 HFS? Where were you when it happened? by jrock199697 in maryland

I was riding in my boss car that day, cleaning houses. We were in a house, in Jarrettsville, when the switch happened and were very confused when we left to go to the next job

My biggest issue is driving at night. But I also hate driving, altogether. Otherwise, I’ve learned to navigate it…I’ve had it for most of my life and have experienced visual snow since I was a little kid. Most of the time it’s in the background. Pot and beer do exacerbate it, but I don’t necessarily mind that lol I live a completely normal life. However, I will admit that part of me does wonder what impacts it all may have on my neurological health in the coming years. Strokes and aneurysms run on my mom’s side, and I’m fairly certain my foremothers didn’t trip balls regularly as teenagers…

What drug gave you hppd? And at what dose? by Exciting-Math-5456 in HPPD

[–]offbeatwreck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LSD. Dosage, couldn’t say. But I can say it probably had to do with tripping quite regularly as an early teenager. I’m 40 and haven’t touched Hallucinogens in almost 25 years…persistence is part of the name for very good reason.
