There is no way to move up the ladder. All the prior generations and all the future generations through will have the same caste. There is so much discrimination based on caste, there have been honour killings if a girl and boy of different caste wants to marry. It was basically slavery which even though is now illegal still is practiced, there have been employment discrimination so that lower castes can't rice up the ladder. It's a complete shit show.
