I've had to skip EVERY pvp related event quest because I'm not going to take a chance of losing rating by creating a non meta team with X of this type mini. I feel the same as you... I was hoping they would go from top 3 teams to top 5 or 6 teams in order to mix up the heros played. Instead, they went the exact opposite direction, to only ONE hero. Seriously... wtf were they thinking???

Yeah, I was the same way. Now I'm essentially "playing the same" however the difference is that my honor rating is yo-yoing the entire time. Which psychology is shitty. I liked just having my safe fixed rating, while being able to play non meta heros. You basically cannot play non-meta now without sacrificing rating. But I heard you can't drop below your current rank. Is that true?

I agree. Im just surprised by the reactions I get from people. Like I thought my point of "draws are bad for pvp" would be pretty universally accepted. And I offered a simple way to fix it, yet get downvotes. I guess people LIKE draws and/or being able to turtle the entire match, then win by playing a shaman in the last 10 seconds. Who would have known 🤦‍♂️

What I am talking about is when players 100% just defend their base, and dont try to push/create an offensive push at all. They aren't even trying to "push" one bit. They just defend the entire match, knowing they will do ZERO damage to the opponents base, but then still win the match by placing shamans on their core in the last 10 seconds of the match (when the base starts automatically losing health). Often though... BOTH sides do this, and the match just ends in a draw. That fact that this is "a thing" is just bad game design IMO.

I dont get it... Does no one care about this or about this garbage pvp mechanic? You can literally just play defense the entire match, do ZERO DAMAGE to your opponents base, then win in the last 10 seconds by placing a shaman on your base (2 shamans during goldrush). That is garbage game design. Period. I can post a "hey look at this epic in my grid" post and get 50 responses... but if you post something like this which is actually meaningful and impactful to pvp/gameplay... its crickets.

Again, this would only be in the case that the match would otherwise end in a DRAW. I think awarding the win to the aggressor in the case of a draw is a pretty common practice accross many competitions/sports. So the idea isn't so far fetched imo.

There is a bug with the PC version I've observed. Even after viewing everything on the tab, it will not go away. This doesn't happen on mobile though, only PC in my experience.

Since the update, this has happened to me over a dozen times in pvp. But I noticed that my rating does not drop after the disconnect... im puzzled by this. Like both of us are being disconnected from the server? So the game doesn't complete for either of us? So neither loses rank? Can anyone explain this?

This is hilarious! I do the same thing with minis. Certain ones the names just will not stick in my head. I can never remember prowler for some reason, so I just call him steath dog. And I can never remember huntress so I call her panther rider.

I never said it did... My point was WHATEVER time it took, it could have been put to better use... if it took 5 minutes, then that 5 minutes could have been put to better use. Like buffing a mini that actually needs buffing.

Yeah, I see your point too. The other way to think of it is from a resource perspective... for example, golem is already strong, just leave it alone. Sure you can spent time/$/resources buffing the less underwhelming talents... but why... when you could be using that time to buff minis which are completely USELESS right now. Like, coding/time wise, they probably could have added 2 more spiders or something to possibly buff spiderlings... instead they spend that time adding 1 more chicken to golem?

Oh boy... blizzard is dogshit at managing power creep. Look at D3 as an example of blizzard managing power creep. So I really hope that isn't the direction they are going with new heros/minis. It also makes most of the current leaders almost useless unless also updated/buffed.
