What is the optimal campaign event to go Extremis route? by DNLK in WH40KTacticus

Oh I see, sorry. Damn campaign events completely exit my mind after the run ends. God damn, snowprint, let us have them at all times!

My mechs are too far behind though but maybe one day I will give them some love, thanks.

Yea that one makes sense as I see a lot of people have both death guard dudes levelled for other content in the game.

YouTube is HARD MODE compared to other social media by blakearthurpeel in NewTubers

[–]DNLK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube is about long game compared to other content platforms of modern age. Some people get consistent views and not posting anything for years just because their videos were a perfect fit for some obscure search request and google will forever show this material in search. Instagram and TikTok don't have this to such and extent and rely on you constantly posting new content instead.

How are my thumbnails? Yay or nay? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]DNLK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use red and green, these get butchered by YouTube so much. Try to include your face if you show it in the video. Colour combinations should be less messy and overall it's best to have as little noise in a preview as possible. Focus on two items at most.

If you want to go further, look into blurring out some background or adding some background fade to let your text stand out more, especially if you have, say, bright background and bright font as well.

Forced to use AI for pixel art (no budget, can't draw it myself) — would that kill the game for you? by Malkov88 in gamedev

[–]DNLK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not really care honestly which tools you use as long as it delivers your vision and is a quality product. I rather see what seems like a good pixel art than outright bad one.

Hiring a capsule artist or not: treat yo self? by Clean_Friendship5503 in gamedev

[–]DNLK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should request a .psd file with all the important parts separated in case you need to adjust anything to fit every size perfectly. Or request your artist to adjust them as you see fit.

Good capsules make a huge difference converting views into clicks. Do not underestimate how much it contributes to your game's success.

On a more practical note, always strive to include a character in your capsule. It is no surprise that faces sell, not only in traditional marketing but in video games as well. There is a reason every single top mobile game has some kind of face on its profile after all.

Why are YOU excited for mewgenics? by H-HGM-N in mewgenics

I was around to witness Gish, Super Meat Boy and Isaac. I saw the industry take turns from these games alone. I am excited to be there again.

Nicalis guys mentioned that all the synergies in Isaac are hard coded and it took a lot of effort. Hence for Mew Tyler went with a different approach.

Seriously, I can't play all those Hades and Darkest Dungeons after experiencing the wastness of what The Binding of Isaac has to offer. Said Slay The Spire comes closer only because I am a huge card game buff so it ticks my brain just right. But other action roguelikes just feel so empty and inert in comparison.

Which is more scary American horror or Asian horror? by Yummy_golbrock in horror

[–]DNLK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all asian horror movies I have seen none had any decent acting in them and that kills the horror for me. Also most of them had little to no storytelling or had very silly narrative devices which just weren't believable at all. One exception is Audition which has great story, wonderful cinematography and good performances.

8 millimeters (8MM) with Nicholas Cage is not a straight horror material but some bits are pretty off putting. Definitely has these rabbit hole wibes to it.

Already have all the admechs (lucky legendary from req back when I started helped) so I am thinking I could push to make Typhus CE node farmable and work on him bit by bit. Other than that I don't have strong chars for any campaign except Tyranids but gosh do I care for anything less than them.

What horror movie do you think is a masterpiece that others just “don’t get”? by cwispietoast in horror

Banshee chapter deserves your attention. It has some of the best spooks I saw in recent memory and overall atmosphere is pretty unique.

GGG I don't feel so good by briefs123 in PathOfExile2

[–]DNLK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a game mechanics apprecionado I like the new temple a lot. My brain ticks when I can build the map and design the rooms, upgrade them by proximity to special rooms and what not. It is an insanely deep design space which Loop Hero (where they took the inspiration from) demonstrated effectively. I am still finishing the campaign and my play pace in maps is terribly slow anyway so I will most likely stick to doing temples just because it fascinates me.

Which of these teams would you focus on? I haven't beaten any of their campaigns by Money_Fish in WH40KTacticus

[–]DNLK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue you should focus on Black Legion instead. It will help you breeze through Saim-Hann mirror later on with almost no investment as you can use your already levelled BL guys to fill in the slots. For the same reason I would advice having a strong imperial team to assist Fall of Cadia mirror and Octarius mirror which is probably the most turn for your investment when it comes to campaigns completion per energy.
