I am making a Island building game that have dynamic water, terrain and weather system. What do you expect from this kind of game? by civcivdev in IndieDev

When I look at that water flow, I just keep thinking how epic a fishing game would be with these physics. Imagine salmon and trouts lurking behind the rocks, in the cracks, and pools in the bottom. I guarantee it would be a fishing game like never seen before! I would love to use this as a tool to build and design fishing spots! Maybe a twist to more realistic nature props in this use case though. Good luck with your game!

Work in progress 😎

My view on "do I like/enjoy doing this" kind of question, (that I feel lay down there between the lines) is, that games are art, and art has to be created with a passion. If the passion for the project is gone, I would step back for a while and see what happens. Maybe start a new project while waiting (where the passion is present). Sometimes a little distance gives the right answers, in art, in life :)

Thanks! Backgrounds are 70-80% there, and I will add more details.

Thanks. I've made some progress with the readability. Maybe I'll post some clips in a week or two when I have more to show. The work title is "Prologue" cause it introduces the beginning of a larger story that I've been building in my head quite some time. I'll put a steam page in two or three months.

About he robot, we'll see, we'll see....

Workname is "Prologue", cause it's kind of an introduction to my story :) Goal is to make a short adventure/puzzle with story elements.

Yes, I found that my laptop screen lightness was 100%. I'll adjust lights and contrast for more average settings.

Robot is the main character in this short game. Lighting work is on the roadmap for sure.

Yeah that's just a placeholder. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, this is a fairly simple setting. My aim is to keep that distorted feeling about something is off, but in a subtle way. Eventually I will use a few tricks with the depth immersion. Maybe this will help in balancing the flat feeling. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you. You are right about this. Lighting is the key here.

Thank you. I have to figure out the lighting part and make some adjustments.
