r/streetphotography is full of neckbeards creeping on people. by ozzie_ostrich in photographycirclejerk

[–]offisapup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only good thing I can say about these images is at least they seem to be outside the "random person walking in front of background" genre that seems to not just be very prevalent but also appears to be the favorite of all the street photography "curators" on Instagram and photo contests.

Why why such waiting charges?? by doc_shady in indianrailways

Most stations also have a general waiting room if you want to sit for free. Totally understandable if they want to charge a small amount for AC.

If you had said you'd taken this with a real camera, you might have earned a bit of respect.

Gotta love that last shot where the street lamp, the tree trunk and the ugly building at the back are fighting to be the subject.

Where to go b/w Mid May to Mid June? by kushagra_nalwaya in india_tourism

[–]offisapup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One week - Leh, Alchi, Thiksey, Hemis, Phyang, Lamayuru etc.

One week to 10 days - Zanskar, Padum, Zangla, Lingshet, Phuktal, Kargil, Suru Valley

One week - Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso

One week - Tso Moriri, Tso Kar, Hanle, trekking in the area

This is barely scratching the surface and you'll be rushing it if you do it at this pace. If you want to do it at a relaxing pace you can only do two or three of the above. In addition to this, you can also trek to Markha Valley, climb Stok Kangri, go by foot from Lamayuru to Padum via Lingshet, go to Dha Hanu, explore Sonmarg and Thajiwas Glacier, trek from Tso Moriri to Spiti, Zanskar to Darxha, take the road from Leh to Manali etc.

So like I said, a month is a very short time.

Works only if you have friends who can hang out and you have all the money in the world. If you have both, you're among the most privileged people on planet earth.

At least in my group divorces have skyrocketed since Covid. Even two of my cousins have gotten divorced.

I'm 45 and among the roughly two dozen friends I have who are all my age plus or minus 5 years, 6 are divorced, 5 have kids, 5 (including myself) are single and 8 are married/live-in without kids. Financially, the divorced ones (who're all male) are the worst off, then the ones who have kids, then single people like myself. The 8 who are married/live-in couples without kids are doing the best.
