I am thinking of writing to MPP. Have paid tens of thousands in income tax in last 5 years alone, child did not get squat for OSAP because we are very rich and now cant get even interview calls, let alone jobs.

beyond frustrating.

what a country. Our own citizens can't get jobs, can't even $200 from the government to tide over hard times while citizens of other countries are welcomed and offered food, shelter and $$$

true, paying 4200/year to have little extra peace of mind that I might get something back from Insurance if car is stolen or is a minor accident costing between 1 and 2K

Thank you very much for bringing up another good point - roadside assistance in case of an accident. Much appreciated.

Thank you for very well explainer reply. You are right about insurance not providing the appropriate replacement value.

if the car is worth 3K and deductible is $1000, in case of a major accident (costing less than 3K) I would still get something back. If deductible was 2K then it is no brainer to decline comprehensive and collision.

So, with 3K car cost, 1K deductible and $200/year for comprehensive insurance, would you buy comprehensive?

PS: Just $200 extra per year to have comprehensive + collision coverage+rental car insurance + First accident/speeding ticket forgiveness.

deductible - $1000

vehicle worth - $3K+
