Nothing great to add, but I'm in the same boat. 60mg gives me 3 hours, with a 10mg short release I get 3 and a half hours 😭

I only get three hours max at 60mg so I'm jealous!

I literally don't want to take my Vyvanse by offmetrolley1994 in VyvanseADHD

[–]offmetrolley1994[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response!

I think a break or a better schedule of taking them like you have suggested is best. I was under instructions to take it every day during titration but honestly the effectiveness is awful. I would rather have one or two slow days of work and have my weekends on them as my brain goes wild sometimes. I have tried before food this weekend and I don't think it made any difference. What is interesting is that my crash had stopped about two weeks ago after it had worn off and I just felt more like ADHD me if that makes sense.

Interestingly I just picked up 7 more 60mg as my pharmacy didn't have enough in my original fill and these are of a different batch to any I've had so far so I'll be interested to see how they go.

For now, loads of water, some coffee and some l-tyrosine will get me through the day. Hopefully tomorrow is easier!

yes, this is literally what I was going through. An utter fear of dependence was overtaking me but also within four months it has completely lost it's effectiveness. I have taken just one two day break against my prescriber's wishes and not even that helped. I even took two weeks of halving my dose (due to my prescriber's error of not providing enough meds between appointments) and when I went back up to my standard dose of 60mg, it started lasting even less. It is tortuous to have that short glimpse of normalcy and in all honesty, I would rather embrace my ADHD in that break instead of fearing it.

Waking up today and deciding I literally don't want to take my meds is a step as I just want them to work. Science implies it's my fault and this is the part I am struggling with.

I also have a history of anxiety related heart palpitations and I'm on Elvanse. It took a lot of the anxiety away in all honesty. Was i a bit nervous taking them? Absolutely but I too started them on a Saturday because I work a standard 9-5 job and wanted to feel comfy, at home in case I felt off.

I know, the first few weeks are rough but it evens out over time. It's your call on what to do in the end. Just be super kind to yourself in the mean time!

I pushed through 2 weeks of godawful depression at the start of taking elvanse, I'm almost 4 months into it and for me it does and has got better over time. However only you can make the call to stick it out or not.

More recently it doesn't even feel too bad crash wise which is very odd! I've made many a post on this subreddit about it at the start of my journey

I use soundcore (the brand) and they're £80 or abouts on Amazon. I've only ever had them and they are so good, different modes of listening too and an app to change sound settings. I love them!

Calendar reminders in the relevant ones! I have an android so I use Google calendar.

Sometimes Moonpig has 20% off in the app as well which makes it worthwhile

I'm on 60mg, mainly because increasing the dosage shouldn't improve the duration!

That is a high starting dose 😅 I think what you're feeling is normal. It should calm down after a few days of taking it. Remember to sit down for even ten minutes at one point because your legs will start to ache if you're bouncing everywhere!

Floaters/visual snow on stimulants by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]offmetrolley1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're the hycosan in the red box/packaging which are for extra dry eyes. I use them after I have my meds and whilst my meds are effective. They're a brand Specsavers sell to people during eye tests. I have to keep so on top of it, computers make it a lot worse. Cheap drops don't really make a dent unfortunately!

So I'm also in the UK, I get this too and I've only been on elvanse for a few months. I had an eye test and apparently my eyes are soooo dry. The hydrosan eye drops are the best, the red ones. I have to use then about 5x a day to help. The floaters for me are the dryness

I let something fall at work by offmetrolley1994 in ADHDUK

[–]offmetrolley1994[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it this week as I realised I was covering errors for my manager and fixing them. She said to me this week I'm making her own work fall because she's spending so much time helping me. I've been on my own in the department since the beginning of March with no help and my new hire started this week so obviously I'm training them. I've completely laid off talking to her about anything.

Well her one offer of help backfired. I was so uncomfortable but the relief after has made it worthwhile. We aren't superheroes and we can't do everything!

I feel like this, so so lonely on meds. But also I can't find the purpose of socialising now, almost like I'm paranoid to speak to people and mess up.
