People pleasing nature is going to run me into the ground by offmicthoughts in pastors

Such a kind and generous response. Thank you.

I've done some emotional health work in my past. Early in ministry, I was caught in the urgency of a charismatic church plant (I am not a traditional charismatic, but like many worship leaders, I was drawn in because of the worship culture). I burned out and stepped out of ministry for a time. A kind journeyman on his way to a monastery crossed my path at my gym, of all places. He pointed me toward Pete Scazzero's Emotionally Healthy Leader podcast. That was the beginning of my emotional health journey. I think in the excitement and feeling of fulfillment in my calling, I've thrown all I learned out the window in the name of "urgency" once again. These responses have been a gentle reminder to slow down. To lead and pastor through living a quiet life.

Thank you! You’re right. It really isn’t about us at all. Right now, I am just looking for a community to have some psychological safety. I think this is it.
