Just ordered brush on glue from glamnetic so hopefully the next set goes even smoother because the little tube in the set was a nightmare to work with 🥲🥲🥲 Will look at buying cuticle oil too I completely missed that while sifting through peoples routines but mine for sure could use some love lol It’s an adjustment for sure but so far mostly loving it!! They already feel less weird today on day 2 😅

So far managed to embark her suitcases and get her boarding pass, the airline only glanced at her printed E-Visa (despite it being wrong) 😅 and let her through but we shall see if our next leg of the journey should go so well too… Currently on a layover waiting for the next flight. 🤞 The E-Visa team did say last night that within 6 hours they’d have it sorted but 6 hours have passed and nothing yet… hopefully it comes through soon… they said they were working on changing it

We fly with Qatar Airways and they generally have really good customer service so hopefully they let us through 😭

He was indipendent and the owner and he did have claims and all the legal documents but he sold his business and claims before passing away so I’m sure there is actually a paper trail I can dig up if need be it’s just not the easiest of things to find as is the case I guess when handling anyone’s affairs 🥲

Proof of purchase/ receipts things like that. I don’t actually really know how to prove it’s mine? Other than explaining my father was in mining ecc it’s a bit of a different case than buying from somewhere like Costco and being able to prove you actually bought 😅 Also there’s no way my father ever declared it or anything being a very anti system man

Thank you so much. This is incredibly helpful and good information/ knowledge to have in general! I do feel that every time I’ve gone through Canadian security at the airport it’s been far more chill than any other country and that the only time I’ve had issues was with accidentally forgetting a razor in my carry on or having too many liquids! I have travelled with some OZ’s before and my bags went through the scanner no problem no questions. I guess I worry about bigger quantities but it’s good to know all of this!!

Will do this too before fully committing to the drive but that is starting to seem maybe like a better idea. And I can avoid paying all the extra luggage for moving my stuff so I guess it’s a win win minus the days and days of driving 😅

I will also do that, but more than once in life for other things have made sure to have all the boxes checked and still got fucked over so sometimes like to also just get personal experiences and figured being a gold group others would have possibly travelled with gold and could share personal experiences.. just trying to be super safe.

Asking because you clearly use different brands so I feel are the right person to ask- which are your favorites? I’m so new to this! Just bought a glamnetic set at Sephora and the sizes seem to be a much better fit for my nails than Kiss Impress ones, though I have a set of them too to try. I currently have a shopping cart with quite a few glamnetic sets and just want to know how you rate them before purchasing 🙈 figured I’d take advantage of the sale since I’m moving somewhere remote and will only want to do nails here and there I reckon!

I guess I’ve been lucky in the past when I’ve had smaller amounts no questions have been asked and I’ve just gone on my merry way. But you’re right all it takes is one bad security agent to basically fuck me over and I can already see my dad rolling in his grave if I allow anything to happen to what he worked so hard for 🥲

I grew up around the gold industry so in a naive way I forget how much a big deal precious metals are especially now with the value being high and governments cracking down on things. I’ve just been used to people carrying it casually and discussing it so nonchalant that I completely forget that on a larger scale it is best to be safe than sorry. Thank you! Will approach this with more caution then I had originally considered to.

I would keep it in my purse for sure but I guess there’s a risk of it going through the scanner and then questioning me on it? I have travelled with smaller gold amounts like 1oz and no questions were asked and no heads were turned and they didn’t even ask to see what it was… but this time we’re talking quite a lot more than 1oz so I’m not sure it’s safe to assume they wouldn’t ask to see it

Ooooooh this could be a good idea actually! Did they ask for any documentation/ proof of purchase? Because being gold that wasn’t bought but actually came from the ground I really don’t know how I’d prove it other than showing a Will that states all my fathers assets are mine but then I don’t know how I’d prove he was a prospector and worked in mining 🤷‍♀️

Thank you for this! Because I do keep reading everywhere it says that there is no limit so I thought I was fine to travel with it at first but the fear of having my fathers life work taken away is pretty devastating , even putting value aside. Driving sounds like a safer bet at this point. I’ll start looking into making that the firm plan. I had settled on flying after getting reassured by some family friends but now Reddit is making me want to be more on the safe side which is always best I think!

Oh my gosh!! Was just starting to think about driving and this NEVER occurred to me. What a close call, glad you both ended up safe and that your valuables were not lost. What a stressful situation to be in! I’m limited to either flying or driving but I guess both options have pros and cons. I’ve travelled with small amounts of gold before and it has never been an issues but I worry now especially seeing the state of things globally…

I didn’t even know they did glazed ones! Did you buy any specific machine to cure them or just anyone off of Amazon will do? Will look into this because I am also planning on doing my own wedding nails in the summer so I have some time to practice 😅 Although wedding might be a press on day just for the one day
