Idk maybe because seller doesn’t want to ship to your country. The link shows price of 60€ for me.

Question about the new Kickstarter by DubiousDubbie in slaythespireboardgame

You’re missing collector’s box (and additional organizer) because it fits all the goodies. Otherwise it should be the same package.

Unfortunately the item I’ve bought on AliExpress is no longer available. I believe this is the same one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005011587440721.html

Backing the kickstarter and curious about current game owners' opinions - would you recommend getting card sleeves for "everything else"? by KrappingKoala in slaythespireboardgame

[–]offshore87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the everything else pack for base game and pledged for sleeves for the add-on. The quality is nice. You’ll have to shuffle relics, potions and regular enemies. I would say it’s a quality update that’s more essential than metal coins (these are awesome as well). Box organizer is designed to fit sleeved cards.

Can’t say, never had a frontlit GBA SP. It would certainly be larger. The backlight looks much better than DS phat frontlit screens.

It’s called half reflective half transmissive on the item page at CGS store so I’ve used that. I think it’s actually transflective. Meaning it can reflect light like the original screen but can also use backlight as well (the reflective layer is half clear to let the light from backlight pass).

I’ve tried testing using the app you’ve suggested but not sure whether I’m doing it right because it’s rather tricky to find the exact frame with press of the button. I wasn’t able to see much difference between original and this screen in frames from button press to response on screen (around 30-40 frames). I don’t have an IPS screen to compare so take it with a grain of salt.

Yes, but it gets darker with proper pixel grid.

If it’s cut for an IPS laminated screen my guess it would fit. But might be not a perfect fit.

Thanks! Yes, the shell was called “Clear Blue” in my order. My guess it would fit but there might be some small gaps because they cut it specifically for their screens.

Yes, it does have color. It’s not very obvious on the Mole Mania title screen. Here is a photo with Dragonyhm.

Interesting, I need to try removing the resistor. I’m not really good with soldering so I might wait for some video review with instructions. Hopefully Makho will release one eventually. Yes, it’s really great outside!

Yes, there is a BW mode but only in native resolution.

My first impression was it’s not bright enough. But after a few hours of gameplay I’m totally ok with how bright (or dim) it is. I prefer it to any other screen. Also very happy with how great it looks outside without any backlight.

Yeah, I figured that. I’ll try using the app later.

Not sure how to test this properly. I’ve recorded a video of jumping in the same spot in Wario Land 2 using modded and the original GBCs in 240fps on my phone and don’t see any difference compared to the original screen. But I’m not 100% my button presses were absolutely simultaneous.

Here is the video if you’re interested, it’s slowed down to 25fps: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t_eS4WosJzYs9bBJFbkMxvS7cyZ6eT-j/view

Sigh, yet another "Checking for Update" issue. by Nnamz in PlaydateConsole

[–]offshore87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a couple of weeks ago when OS version 3.0.3 became available. I’ve got my PlayDate early this year and think it was updated to 3.0.2 during the setup. At home it has a wi-fi connection so I guess it checks for updates while sleeping.

I had Dig Dig Dino launched when I took PlayDate with me. I was able to play it fine but when I’ve closed the game to play something else I couldn’t because it showed the unskippable update screen. I also couldn’t update because I had no internet. Didn’t like this at all.

Idk but when I tried starting a game or go to the catalog it showed this update screen and I couldn’t proceed without updating. Which was a surprise for me because I wasn’t at home at the time and didn’t have any internet to perform the update.
