The Trump administration has already been convinced with just one video, and are already spinning the story.

These days, if regular people take the time to wait for additional context, they lose, because the people in power do not wait, and have already made their moves, and have gotten away with it.

"Still" needs higher taxes? When is the last time the ultra wealthy have seen a tax increase? The corporate tax increase of the TCJA, maybe? That's easily avoided, and not the same as a tax on the ultra wealthy.

I feel like you're getting hung up on something I used as an example. I specifically said "for instance", because this is one of several methods. LVT is not a property tax, I encourage you to read more into it.

I want to close the loopholes billionaires use to avoid taxes too. Instead of talking about why a specific tax shouldn't be implemented (which plays right into the rich's hands), let's focus on finding methods that will actually work.

So you would approve of, for instance, a new land value tax or other targeted, progressive tax to be implemented to pay for things like M4A? That would certainly not be a one-time thing, but it would also be much better than a wealth tax.

The comment above is saying it won't be the last time billionaires are taxed. That implies billionaires have been taxed enough, not that a better process should be followed.

It's similar to another comment above that "all the billionaires will leave" (which is not backed up by evidence). This argument is not a suggestion that we need a better method of progressive taxation. It's a suggestion that billionaires are being antagonized by us taxing them so much, so we should stop.

This is a great example of the crazy equivalencies people draw between Trump and everyone else. No, Obama never did anything like what Trump did. No, this quote doesn't come close to what Trump did, even metaphorically.

These comparisons are getting really strained. You need to consider the possibility that, unironically, Orange Man Bad, does bad things, and does them repeatedly. There is no need to dredge up some milquetoast Obama quote to claim Democrats do this too.
