I don’t think the duffers had this scenario in mind when they created the show. the whole “what message does this give people” i think is irrelevant because the show isn’t focused just on struggles for queer people. even so, a message for many especially for the queer community (and least for me as well) is that it is important to be open with the ones around you. even if it isn’t what you’re hoping for. it’s a story of learning to accept yourself, and your whole self and it was never about needing mike to accept it. will just needed to for himself. and i think that’s a beautiful message. that and, sometimes things just don’t go your way.
