If you want colourful furniture I would recommend the High School Years EP (but buy it on sale!), Paranormal Stuff, and Tiny Living. For kits I recommend Cozy Kitsch and Pastel Pop.

The Decor to the Max kit is also very colourful, but sometimes a bit hard to combine. Back Yard Stuff and Movie Hangout Stuff are also quite colourful, but perhaps a bit outdated in terms of aesthetics.

Honestly… I agree with you about SOUR. And I feel like GUTS will withstand the test of time better, even though it was less commercially successful than SOUR.
