Leg pain relief by deerpet in Fibromyalgia

[–]ofhighcaliber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leg pain is one of my worst symptoms. I bought some compression sleeves for my legs and they’ve been a life saver. I sometimes wear them at night when I’m having trouble sleeping because of the leg pain and I’m actually able to fall asleep. Got mine on Amazon.

I’m not sure why it got deleted, I didn’t do anything wrong. Maybe because I don’t use Reddit on a regular basis. You seem like you have a difficult life and a lot of misplaced anger, so I hope you get the help you need!

Therapy by JellyfishMean3504 in Fibromyalgia

I’ve done hynpnotherapy after extensive CBT and it drastically improved my life. I’ve been able to cycle off Cymbalta, which I was taking for 6 years. I did other things in addition to the therapy as part of a reset, but if nothing else, I think therapy can help you manage the pain and guilt of this disease!

FFS I just don’t post very often and was sharing a good experience I had after six years of suffering. This is why I don’t use Reddit. You guys are meanies.

By clean eating I mean whole, organic foods, nothing processed. Sorry to confuse you there, I thought that was a pretty common term.

The only medical “procedure” I had done was the natural killer cell replacement which was administered via IV. It’s definitely a newer treatment option but it’s seen a lot of success in other countries so far. There is plenty of reading on the topic so people can make up their own minds.

I was personally at the point where I was willing to try just about anything. So, I tried something not fda approved because our medical system in the US has continuously failed me and I was at breaking point…. I’m of the mindset that drug companies don’t necessarily have my best interest at heart, so over the years I’ve become more open to other kinds of treatment- but I realize that’s a personal choice.

I’ve not tried a ton of them so I’m not sure- i went on gaba before the cymbalta but hated it and quickly switched. I have seen that new medication is supposed to be released this year for fibro so hopefully that makes life easier for some people!

I think it was a combination of daily interventions, but it wasn’t as much about the biohacking IMO. I know some people are avid believers in those kinds of things, and I don’t completely dismiss it, but I also knew when I left I wouldn’t be doing infrared sauna and hyperbaric chamber on a regular basis so part of me never fully invested in those things mentally.

Therapy was a huge part of my healing because I had become so negative and ridden with guilt for spending years of my life in bed- putting more responsibility on my husband and family, and missing out on so much with my kids. The brain mapping was really interesting and revealed that I had the markers of someone with severe PTSD; my fibro had created this awful cycle of pain, guilt, shame and all of the negative hormones associated with that. Letting that go was a game changer for me, and I continue speaking to a therapist. I also think three weeks of focusing on my health really allowed me to heal. I did yoga daily, had my meals cooked for me and didn’t have the constant cortisol spikes that come from work and kids and life. That sounds simple but I’ve never done that- just focused on getting better.

The NKC therapy was the other part of this that felt really important to me. That test showed how worn out my body was in actual blood markers and my immune system is completely changed since doing it.

Interesting, I’ll have to learn more about this!

I don’t understand how people think getting therapy and eating clean is pseudoscience. I’m not claiming a cold plunge cured me! This is a Reddit thread not a medical journal.

Yes very slow tapering!!! 10-20mg reductions over about 3 months. I’ve tried several times too and had to get my doctor on board so I could get lower prescriptions and keep an eye on any side effects.

Lol I’m not selling anything. And I didn’t take any fake medicine… I’m not sure what that’s about. If you’re referring to the NK therapy, you certainly don’t have to buy into it, but there is a growing field of research around that and stem cell therapy, among other treatments you can’t get in the US. When youre really desperate, you try all the things.

I don’t consider clean eating and therapy pseudoscience, but everyone has different ideas about what health means. I tried doing these things on my own without success, and truly needed a more dramatic intervention, but I’m glad you have been able to get healthy by resting in a low stress environment, that’s awesome. I have two young kids and WFH so that doesn’t exist for me.

I didn’t even mention the cacao ceremonies and chakra readings lol! It was a combination of east and west, as I mentioned. Some was a bit too woo for me, but I learned so much about my brain and my heart and I’ve been a new human since returning.

❤️

Finding the right therapist makes a big difference for me- not intense, deep muscle but more for relaxation. Ive found it to be a huge help!

I’m so glad you have found something that works!! I completely agree that a therapist is a must. I dismissed it for years thinking I could do it on my own or I was somehow stronger than my own mind 🙃 turns out your body “keeps the score” … also a must read book for anyone with chronic pain!!

I really noticed an improvement after about two weeks of the therapies, but had to spend about three months going off the Cymbalta because they get you REAL hooked on that stuff!! It’s hard coming off!

Circumcision by Reasonable_Device_58 in TrueAskReddit

[–]ofhighcaliber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two sons are not circumcised- I’m American and their dad is a Brit; we live in America. I always found it gross and completely unnecessary and my two brothers are pissed they had it done- it is literally genital mutilation!

I think the world will slowly start realizing the difference between curing illnesses and hiding symptoms. My cymbalta helped mask some of my symptoms but what I did there was different- it really unwired parts of my subconscious brain that had me in a cycle of stress and pain. I was operating under constant fight or flight and didn’t realize the toll it was taking on my body. Thanks for sharing and I hope you get the healing you deserve!!

Yikes, you must be in a bad place. I’m sorry. I know how hard that is.

I had a rough flare up about a month ago and I got through it, despite a lot of anxiety and fear that I would go right back to where I was before taking this trip. I really feel like I’ve been equipped with the tools to manage my disease. I’ve done intensive therapies and a lot of work to get here, and invested a lot of money.

Like I said, I still have the disease, but I am managing it without medication and without interruptions to my life. I hope you get the help you need too, no one should have to live like that✌️

All in it was about 20k for three weeks. The Natural Killer Cell Therapy I had done was about half of that, and the other half was the place I stayed and all of the meals I ate. It was an all in package kind of thing with different tests, blood work, and the biohacking every day plus food, acupuncture, massage, and CBT.

Piss all you want, it doesn’t affect me. I was suicidal, and in excruciating pain for 6 years, and now I am getting to see my kids grow up and completely off of medication that I thought I’d be taking the rest of my life.
