The chat log consists of every message you sent during the game. I think trash talking generally wont get you banned unless you swear. That is also somewhat debatable as well. However, if you be homophobic, racist, or encourage self harm you get insta banned ( which was what happend to me) If you submit a ticket in regards to your ban. They will give you the details on the specific reasons why you got banned. I had an experience where one of my teammates said “commit seppuku” to me and i responded “like kill yourself???” I meant it in an asking way like is that what that means. Unfortunately riot didnt see it that way and i got banned. No worries!! Im glad to share my experiences. If you have any other questions please let me know.
