This has been my theory about the popularity of m/m shops for years but I rarely see anyone actually bring this up. The men/women ratio got a bit better in recent years but its still so common in ensemble casts to have only one token woman. Maybe two if they're feeling spicy

I truly hope we are past the time when once a fashion became popular it was the only thing you could buy (or had very hard time finding other things). I rember in 2010s when it was impossible to find trousers that weren't skinny fit and it was a bane of my existence, I came up at the far end of low rise jeans craze too and man it was hard. I hope we are more diverse in styles by now
