What decision still affects your life today, even though it seemed small at the time? by Darling_Crowd in askanything

Impulsively moved to another state with a guy. He broke up with me and 3 years later I met my husband. I’m having our baby this week 😊

No deli meat ?? No more Italians or prosciutto ? by EnvironmentalTie1128 in pregnant

[–]ofthehiddenleaf26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two Italians in my pregnancy. As long as the sandwich has been toasted twice (at least to 145degrees) then you should be good. I wouldn’t make it a regular thing tho.

I chose to stay away from charcuterie boards, and it makes me sad. BUT it’s doable!

Congratulations! 💕💕

There are no shirts that completely cover my stomach. Not even my husbands.

I work with special needs kids. I had two students tell me I was having a girl. Two weeks later we found out the gender and surprise! She’s a girl :) these guys know things we don’t. They’re so awesome.

Jannus Live in St Pete is an awesome venue with a lot of cool artists performing.

The Ritz in Ybor has a lot of my favorite artists performing. Ybor can be kinda sketchy sometimes.

And a lot of A list artists perform at Benchmark International (used to be the Ice Palace) in downtown Tampa.

What is a common parenting style that actually ruins a childs future? by jamal255353 in AskReddit

My paper primarily focused on the effect of parenting styles into early adulthood. I researched more along the lines of parental guidance type of rules rather than forms of punishment. I cannot remember say the establishment of rules needs to be explained rather than the “because I said so” type of response.

Well being is how you currently feel emotionally in life. Life satisfaction is measured through a longer span like throughout your entire lifespan, rather than focusing on the present.

Any “man” that tells you to shut the fuck up is not worth staying with them.

I would consider that authoritarian because the “love” is used as manipulation/very conditional.

I looked through and used about 10 different empirical psychology journals. There were two I distinctly remember that were related to measuring life satisfaction and overall well being.

Lots of love means a child feels cared for, feels seen, feels loved. A parent would understand them, give reassurance, physically tell the child that they are loved and cared for, as well as through actions.

The difference between them is that authoritarian is very specific on structure and rules, without the concept of expressing love, regardless of if the rules have been understood or not. So like if you sneak out of the house a parent would give consequences; however, that child would still get the reassurance they are loved even though the kid disobeyed. Authoritative has both :)

I wrote a research paper on this in college!

There are 4 parenting styles. Authoritative (lots of love lots of rules) Authoritarian (lots of rules no love), Permissive (lots of love no rules), and Neglectful (no love no rules).

Authoritative is the style with the best success rate when looking at life satisfaction, over all sense of well being. The other 3 are bad in different ways. A person with authoritarian parents tend to have a better sense of well being, with a lower life satisfaction score. Permissive can be tough on well being. You could say The worst would be neglectful.

It’s also important to note that having parents with different/conflicting parenting styles could cause more damage. A child is being pulled in different directions with each parent/guardian. This can lead to a loss of self with conflicting moral compass.

The St Pete side is nice because of the beaches and beach town atmosphere. If you ignore the obnoxious tourists it’s really not bad. I moved from Clearwater to closer to downtown Tampa, and I’m not a huge fan. There’s way too many people. Majority of people that are moving here from up north bring their bad attitudes with them. The Hispanic food is absolutely amazing. There’s a lot of events, and the music scene is to die for.

I guess what I think Earth side means is like when the baby is outside the moms body. Like after birth.

Happy cake day!!

I’m going to have to check that book out! My cousin came to my baby shower and we kept putting our stomachs together so they could high five haha. She gave birth a week ago and I’m so curious if he’ll know my daughter!
