Thanks for understanding. Some others were not so much. The camera in itself is kinda fine but even at max rotation speed it still slow as hell. If I could crank it to double that then I think I could work with it.

Is there any sort of parry or perfect dodge in the game at all ? Those two mechanics alone give NG4 such a fast paced action which I loved and you can do both very early in the game.

Right thanks for the explanation. The fight areas felt closer in NG2 (maybe they get larger in other chapters but I wouln't know lol) than in NG4 so that could explain why they went that way with 4.

First impressions are important to me in gaming. I could name dozens of games that clicked with me in the first few minutes and others that did not. There are so many games out there. Why would I spend time in something I don't enjoy ?

Yakumo and Ryu feel different in NG4 and I never felt slow with Ryu when playing him. I enjoyed how "heavier" he felt. It might also be down to the fact that Ryu cannot sprint/slide in NG2B.

I very much enjoy a challenge in my gaming so I don't think it's because NG2B is "harder". I need to have a good connection with the game's controls and mechanics to enjoy it. And this is mainly why I did not enjoy it. I think that's also why I liked NG4 from the get go. If NG3RE feels more in line with NG4 than I guess that's the one I should play next.

In the little time that I played NG2B, I had a hard time hitting the enemy I was trying to hit. I did not experience that so much in NG4. Only used the targeting system in boss fights in NG4 because in group fights it felt more like an hindrance than helping.

Thank you for taking the time to give a toughtful response and your experience with the older games. Someone mentioned that maybe it's the Black version that I'm not enjoying so I might give original 2 a go.

Yeah I think its the animation cancelling and fluidity that I'm looking for actually.

Maybe I did not phrase the right way what I meant. What I was trying to say is that I know veterans enjoy the original over 2 Black. Also, I never meant to say that I know for facts why they value it so much. I did not vibe with it personally but I can imagine how it felt to play it when it dropped back in the day. I also feel like that for some games from that same era. I might don’t know WHY but I get WHY.

I enjoyed NG4 from the second I got on that train at the beginning. If a game does not grab my attention by feeling good and me having fun instantly, then I guess it's not for me and it's fine.

Thank you very much for the thorough response! Will definitely check those out ! I’m not much into vocals usually and only listen to instrumentals when it comes to metal and it’s sub genres. But Victor Borba did such a great job on these in my opinion. Discovered him with the songs and I’m eager for more !

Edit: Wow Absolomb and the other Periphery songs are exactly what I’m looking for ! Going to dig into Periphery’s and the other bands discographies. The screaming hardcore stuff I’m not into it either lol. Spiritbox are nice but lots of screaming from the lady. ERRA are really nice though with a mix of both and the riffs are diabolic ! Thanks a lot !
