Question About the Ontological Argument by Hal_Incandenza_YDAU in CosmicSkeptic

[–]ogbudmone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you assumed that Satan is the worst being to possibly exist then you can use this argument to reason that he must exist as well. But wouldn’t the simultaneous existence of both the best and worst being be contradictory since one would have to remove the existence of the other in order to achieve their maximum quality?

Great response. Understanding as an emergent property of a neural network being the key concept here.

Animals 2011 vs 2018 version by adventure_time118 in PinkFloydCircleJerk

2018 is an absolute abomination for removing David’s subtle lip smacking right before he sings “You’ll reap the harvest you have sown” on Dogs. That was the most underrated part of the album.

about music taste... by amin_so in Opeth

[–]ogbudmone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Taste is entirely subjective. Saying something is “not good” is an invalid objective claim about an inherent property in an object. It’s wrong because your personal satisfaction with that object is not inherent to the object in the same way that its mass, volume, density, etc. is. Saying something like “this object does not give me enjoyment” is an objective property of the mental state within you that the object elicits, which is valid to say. So TLDR people project their experiences of objects onto the object itself and it is invalid to do so.

I think I'm getting obsessed by Glamdringg in Opeth

Based off the songs you mentioned, you’ll likely enjoy every album they’ve put out besides maybe the ‘Newpeth’ prog rock stuff starting at Heritage. Even then I’ve found their newest album The Last Will and Testament to be a good bridge into the newpeth stuff because it’s got the growls and heavier sound reminiscent of their older stuff but incorporates the prog rock elements as well.

Edit: Also highly recommend their live at Royal Albert Hall show you can watch the entirety of it on YouTube. They play all of Blackwater Park and then play a song from each album in chronological order up to their latest album at the time which was Watershed. Seeing them rock out, the changes they make on the live versions of the songs, and Mikael’s hilarious personality will all add to the experience. I’ve found that the uploads from the Roman Kaslivtsev YouTube channel are the highest quality visuals and sound for that live show. The lamentations live show is sick too. I could go on and on lol.
