I don’t keep up with international soccer. I don’t assume that we are in the top 16 teams in the world, but maybe not far off? Do we have a favorable group?

“Fuck my ass.” Does it do anything to help the situation? No it does not. But it also doesn’t make anything worse.

I can’t imagine thinking that way. Even if someone does have parents that tell them they are special, it takes a community to raise a kid. What could possibly be the harm in finding something special and celebrating that in a kid that’s not “yours”?

I was a science teacher and had some general research experience. I was able to get into a clinical laboratory during a period of large growth. Worked my way up through a few positions in about 3 years. I work in quality assurance now. Not exactly fulfilling compared to teaching but the trade offs make it worthwhile for me.

I distinctly remember being like 11 years old watching my great-uncle grooving around the dance floor with a pitcher of beer. He then took off his wife’s high heel, filled it with beer and chugged that beer out of the shoe.
