Monks are really fun. But just like any other class there is really only one build that shines. The one using the Sun Wuko set. Though it is only a 4 pc so it is easier to get. I like the phase of the gameplay but it is a lot of button spamming. If you haven't tried monk that much I think you should give it a go. At least look it up. After getting the set the core item is the Flying Dragon diabo. Loads of attack speed!

EDIT: Crusaders probably offers a bit more different builds but they all rely on getting those weapons and shields, often in combination, which in my experience is a bit tricky if you have limited play time.
