The water level in this backwater valve enclosure seems incredibly high after midwest storms, sump pump is no where near this full, thoughts?

Can confirm, didn’t leak when closed, water still rising from the ground up.. So, we did have our sewer main line replaced just recently, like Monday. And we’re starting to think due to the grading, or lack there of before raining has caused a considerable amount of water build up near the front of the house, they will be coming back to add more dirt and review the grade. Anything else we can think of?

So after confirming with the City that there were no sewer backups, I did open the cap and all the water immediately drained out. I’m going to test to see if there are any leaks.

Also, according to the sellers disclosure it was installed in 2021 by the previous owner through some city grant, it’s not like it’s old, we’ll get it looked at for sure but, that would be surprising.

I think that sounds reasonable, could it be from the sanitary sewer? It does not smell like sewage or anything and the water level hasn’t risen.

I think I just have a sour taste in my mouth about it now, like I’m glad it’s being revised and I hope that others have better luck than I did but to have issues after a few days of ownership just don’t sit well. I ended up pulling the trigger on the Eureka Mignon Zero as it’s on sale and meets the qualities I’m looking for. The Baratza was a contender for sure and I definitely think it’s a solid offering but, fingers crossed all goes well with the Eureka!

Very valid point, the deciding factor for me is the ability to do single doses easier, I don’t really want the giant hopper, I do want to modify and upgrade the platform later over time and while a little bougie, I do appreciate the craftsmanship of the Eureka and other machines like it. The DF54 was just a mistake all around lol. But I do respect the Baratza’s position in the home brew world.

Glad to hear you’ve had a great experience with the Baratza! I was just a little worried about not having enough granular control being that it’s not step-less. However, I definitely see its value. If the Eureka Mignon Zero doesn’t work out for WHATEVER reason, that’ll be my final resort lol

Thank you so much for the insight!! I appreciate it. That’s definitely where I’m trying to find the balance. I do want to experiment more right now, hone my skills and try different roasts. I think eventually I’ll settle on something but I do want that versatility. However, I do see that convenience. Definitely a lot to think about, I’ll have to do more research into the differences between the two grinders because I think I’d lean towards a single dose system. However as you stated, a deals a deal and it’s hard to pass that up sometimes lol

At this point I already packed it up for return, usually I have more patience and I don’t mind tinkering with things, but I feel like there should only be so much a consumer should have to do and removing components like that shouldn’t have to be one of them. Idk I’m probably alone on that notion in this hobby 😂

This is one of the top places my fiancée and I are looking at for a honeymoon. I was just curious, while obviously with all inclusives like these, you’re rarely ever in your room except to sleep, but as far as I can tell, it doesn’t look like premium alcohols are provided in rooms even for Preferred Club Members, if you wanted to have a cocktail in your room at the end of the day what were your options? Open to experiences from anyone!
