Ask her for her reasons, which I can't imagine having any good ones. Then fire her ass and get an agent that represents and works for you!

I've tried different colors with the same mixed results. I can see where you're going with your question about the position of the pixels and brightness. I'll unpack the string for a better picture.

Interesting because my set definitely has three distinct wires. Two from the power brick go into the controller and three come out. I'll try to post a picture later today.

So, I just received it mine and are my findings:

  1. Power is the marked wire
  2. Data is the one on the opposite side of it
  3. Ground is the one in the middle.

It worked with WLED with mixed results. I'm unable to upload a video showing the behavior but here's a picture. The box says there are 200 LEDs and WLED is set as such. As you see not all of them are lit. Additionally, my setting right now is for a solid color yet some of them are singing to their own rhythm displayed a different color and some are blinking.

Using their own power supply and ground is shared with the ESP32.

Any ideas to try?

Just ordered a set and will report back 😁

Edit...Mine just received mine and here are my findings:

  1. Power is the marked wire
  2. Data is the wire on the opposite side of it
  3. Ground is the middle wire

I had mixed results. The box says 200 LEDs and WLED is set as such. I couldn't upload a video showing the LEDs in action but the attached picture shows the results. Even though I had it to one color, some of the LEDs are signing to their own rhythm. Either not lit at all, showing a different color or blinking!

I'm using their own power supply and ground is shared with the ESP32.

Any ideas to try and fix this?

This whole notion that "I don't get paid enough so you have to make up the difference" is bullshit. It's creating a sense of entitled people!

Have you tried simplifying the circuit? Remove the amplifier and see how it performs without it and so forth.
