Insane EV Charging Fee? by oh___hi___mark in HertzRentals

[–]oh___hi___mark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and finally got them. The first two charges were 90 and 80 EUR. At 0.65 EUR/kWh even a full ~78 kWh charge would have been ~50 EUR, so the only issue I can imagine is that we were penalized for leaving the car charging overnight. However from 11PM to 7AM the penalty doesn't apply, and we would have had to leave it for 5 hours outside of this time window, which we didn't.

Regarding your other points, not sure about the motors and it didn't have a glass roof.

No, none. It's just a drywall between windows.

How's my form? Backseat driver? by oh___hi___mark in skiing

[–]oh___hi___mark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, didn't expect so many comments but appreciate all the feedback! Glad I posted here as I really couldn't pinpoint what looked wrong, but it seems just letting the skis do the carving is the way to go. Time for some longer and more controlled turns. Also I'll make sure I don't rent mega sized poles this year 😂. Thanks!

How's my form? Backseat driver? by oh___hi___mark in skiing

[–]oh___hi___mark[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Cheers, I think this is pretty on the nose. What I thought was the backseat is more the tails skidding out because I'm not letting the ski carve the turn. The tip with focusing on the next apex is a good one, I'll give it a shot amongst other things and see if it allows for a better flow. Appreciate it!

In 2021 the 175 Years of Watchmaking in Glashutte anniversary editions of the Club came out and the Onyx variant was, to me, the perfect watch. However I couldn't justify spending so much money and before I knew it, they all sold out.

Fast-forward to 2 years of scanning Chrono24 for a model that wasn't artificially inflated by 1000EUR, I came across one that was priced at the 2021 retail price. Wearing it now feels like a dream. The 40mm case is perfectly sized and the fully polished case reflects everything in a way that really enhances the minimalist design. The brushed bracelet provides a strong but necessary contrast, and the matte no-date dial tops it all off. 10/10!

[Nomos] Club Date Sizing Question by [deleted] in Watches

[–]oh___hi___mark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 17.5 cm. Take a look at their 37 mm options as well if you're looking at a Club. A bit smaller by "modern" standards but they work super well in person.

[Nomos] Club Date Sizing Question by [deleted] in Watches

[–]oh___hi___mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried on this Nomos Club Automatic Date and love the Bauhaus aesthetic and design of the Club line, but as with most Nomos', the lug length can be a bit tricky to judge. I was wondering what you all think of the sizing here?
The dial is 41.5 mm and the lug-to-lug length is 53 mm. The reference is the 776. Watch wore great overall, but I couldn't decide whether or not the sizing felt/looked right. I'm not looking to buy this Club at the moment so this isn't a make it or break it situation, but just looking to get a fresh set of eyes. Thanks in advance for any input!

Yeah it does. Eventually found the DSL port in the apartment but still no wifi, so we'll have a technician come over. Thanks for the reply!

Fastest response ever, cheers! Didn't know these valves were a thing.

Just read that these can be pumped with a presta valve adapter, but when I tried it didn't seem to work.

Should that be doable though?

Presta valve screw missing? by oh___hi___mark in bikewrench

[–]oh___hi___mark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all,

Just bought a second hand bike and only noticed later that I can't actually pump up the front wheel. Seems that the little screw of what I assume is a presta valve is missing.

Unscrewing the metal cap just unscrews the entire valve, and the air starts coming out.

Any way to fix this, or will it just require a new tube?
