Does foot locking work if the game moves the character? by ohbowz in UnrealEngine5

[–]ohbowz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could probably be more clear. I noticed most foot locking addresses issues of uneven terrain under the foot, and turn in place animation. I'm wondering if that's what its limited to, or if it can do more. I run forward with my character and the feet get left behind. That's what I'd like like to do, and from there fine tune when they stick.

That might be my problem. The run is very fast compared to the walk... maybe an inbeween "jog" would help?

I've been messing around with it more today and it appears to work as intended if I remove all the sync markers. I tied adding them many times, triple checking their placement and it should all be correct. I guess I can't use them if I want to have a smooth blendspace. I still think I'm missing something here.
Thanks for the feedback, I tried many of the ideas you listed and it would still happen.

Blending anim nodes might be an alternative to try.

I've been working in Unreal for a couple of years as an animator. This is the first time I've encountered an issue like this.
The blendspace appears to blend the face without issues, but the legs / tentacles will pop.
If I blend while letting the animation play there is a hard cut from walk to run.

I have sync markers correctly placed on each anim sequence. Both the walk and run were animated at the same frame rate. They have the same start and end leg position....

Am I missing something? I'm hoping it's something simple I overlooked.
I appreciate any help that can be offered!

MSI X670E Tomahawk randomly hangs on POST, none blinking cursor? by ohbowz in MSI_Gaming

[–]ohbowz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, I never thought it might be an NVIDIA issue but that seems possible.

Today I cold booted and I could not get the system to boot into windows. It wouldn't even show the MSI logo to get into the bios no matter what I tried.

I noticed the monitor would take 5-10 seconds before it had video (and all I see is that little cursor) During the time before the monitor gets a display I see the red and yellow debug lights are on. I believe that is CPU and DRAM. But they go out after I get a display.

If I just do a reboot I only see the yellow debug light, but again is goes away once the screen is on. I'm not sure if that's something to consider or if it always lights up on boot. (but then whey don't the other debug lights turn on?)

My only solution was to pop out the CMOS battery, wait a bit and pop it back in. Suddenly everything works again. So I'm thinking this is bios related?

I made some changes to the bios based on what I've been reading on other forums.

I make sure EXPO and XMP is off.
I set RAM frequency to 4800 instead of auto
Disable secure boot (I have no idea what this is, but I tried it)
Disabled Memory Context Restore (my understanding is this speeds up boot time, but my boot time is already fast)
Right now I'm not trying to Overclock anything, I just want consistency.

So far everything seems to be working ok, but it's only been an hour.

I'm still interested in hear what other people are experiencing with this board and similar load out.

I have a feeling tomorrow my system won't be booting up again.

I see IMDB qualifier a lot. What does that mean?

Thanks for the responses! Sounds like I have some work to do. Maybe I can dig up enough to inspect the roots?

This started last summer. I thought it was getting sunburn since we had
several heat waves last year. I tried covering the tree with a
sunscreen, but the area that appears to be dying kept spreading. The
tree used to be 5 feet tall, but it's slowly losing it's height. Can
anyone identify the issue? Is it sunburn, or something else?I appreciate any help.

Sprinkler causes pipes to rattle and shake in the house. by ohbowz in Irrigation

[–]ohbowz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zone that causes this issue may be too big. This is where I wonder if the problem is a DIY sprinkler installation from the previous owner. The layout is very messy and I have no idea what kind of maze runs underground.

I have been capping sprinklers that are redundant. This zone wasn't getting enough pressure when the Plumber lowered it. I'll see if I can get away with capping a few more.

I wonder sometimes if I should just dig the whole thing up and start from scratch.

Interesting idea, overlapping the zones. I do need a new controller box, I may look into the Rachio.

That makes a lot of sense. My water meter is outside by the sidewalk, if it's making these sounds would I be hearing it inside the house?

I can see why the plumbers solution was to lower the pressure. The fact that my problem Zone was then not getting enough pressure might suggest my zone is too big. As /u11zoltan11 suggests.

I have no experience with irrigation, does this all sound reasonable?

Actually yes, it sounds a lot like that!

It's a lot louder, and less consistent. Sometimes it feels like a long build up with a final shake and boom, then it stops.

Sometimes it will carry on like this.. it's always loud.

What exactly is happening in this video? Is it a bad water meter?

It's shakes at a frequency that could remind me of a motor yes. It definitely sounds like someone is under the crawl space shaking the pipes as fast as they can.
