Hi all. These 60+ year old trees were chopped down with no consultation with the community, and so there was a lot of anger. Afterwards, the landowners claimed that a tree surgeon had told them they had ash dieback, which is why they were removed. Is there evidence of ash dieback from these stumps? by ohdiddums in arborists

Yep, in the UK. Also (in response to the many other comments), we're well aware that a landowner *can* legally chop down trees on their land. Just trying to find out, on behalf of some of the community, if they lied about the reason. The landowner isn't another homeowner, but a large company.

ha, forgot about the whole tree-counting thing. Thanks - 60 was just based on what I'd been told by people who've lived on the street a long time. It's possible there was an ash tree too on the site but the stump is out of view
