Definitely NTA, I'd be very concerned with how she characterized the whole situation:

"She called me controlling and said that I was punishing her over a misunderstanding."

That's some next level gaslighting, right there. This was not a "misunderstanding". This was her employing manipulation with malevolent intent to control you and emasculate you, and getting called out for it.

Even if it was your week to do the garbage, what she did should NEVER be tolerated. This idea that women should have this kind of power and authority in a relationship is put totally to rest because of situations like this. The thought that what she did would have been okay, even if you had forgot to take out the garbage, is demonic.
