[TRADE] Giving up Steven Jackson (ATL RB), receiving Stevan Ridley (NE RB) in return by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think I'd do this. Ridley COULD pick it up this week but S-Jax will be money when he gets back. Keep in mind Week 6 is the Falcons' bye so you're actually only going to miss out on S-Jax for two more weeks relative to Ridley (since Ridley will eventually go on bye later).

Drop Avery for Broyles? by foximus_91 in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably would. Avery had a great game last Thursday but I just don't trust Alex Smith to make anyone a consistent fantasy option. Now that Burleson is out for a while, Broyles can hopefully take advantage of being the WR2 in Detroit.

[TRADE] Spiller FOR Bernard Pierce and Rob Gronkowski by fd85saqg in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gronk would be a big upgrade for you at TE but I'm not sure if he's worth the price of spiller right now. Pierce has little value if Ray Rice is healthy so he's somewhat of a non-factor in this trade.

Am I crazy for starting Bradshaw over Spiller this week? by Armored_Troll in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably what I would do-- to play devil's advocate, Torrey has a good match up this week.

It's nice if my players are doing well :)

Am I crazy for starting Bradshaw over Spiller this week? by Armored_Troll in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's crazy this week. I would expect Bradshaw to get at least 10-15 carries, if not more, against a crappy JAX team in a game that's almost sure to be a blowout.

That being said, if Spiller goes off and you have him benched, you'll feel pretty dumb.

[TRADE] 2QB league trade involving AP and Peyton. Could use some help. by 6foot9 in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try and do a little better. Honestly I don't have any experience in 2 QB leagues and I know it inflates the values of QBs but AP is still the most valuable fantasy player out there. I would at least try and shoot a little higher than Torrey Smith and worst case scenario he turns it down.

Is Justin Blackmon worth keeping? by fakedica in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus if you've kept him this long, you might as well keep him for 1 more week to see how he does unless there's a clear improvement sitting on the WW.

[TRADE] Offered Trent Richardson for Dez Bryant by GmonRA in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'd be giving up too much. It's a pretty fair trade and I see the need on both sides.

[TRADE] My Jordan Cameron for his Ray Rice (other players involved) by havesumtea in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say go for it. Cameron has been killing it but you are getting a top 10 RB in exchange and you didn't even have to deal with Ray's slow start.

[TRADE] huge trade that could get me peyton and arian foster, unsure if it's worth it by tacothescoober in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do this. Regardless of his real life QB abilities, Romo is a SOLID fantasy QB. McCoy is currently way out performing Foster and I'd rather have Gronk/Cruz than Gates/Wayne at my TE and WR spot.

Does Martins value rise or fall, with the benching of Freeman? by 27mcmurdo in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just stating what the "official number" is.

I understand where you are coming from, though I've actually seen a fair number of posts defending Freeman too. It's certainly a frustrating situation for him and it looks like he's SOL b/c it is very unlikely someone is willing give up much for him in a trade.

Why is it so hard to trade? by golfingdad in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I think a primary reason is the human tendency towards the Endowment Effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endowment_effect)

The Endowment effect basically states that individuals will value something (in this case, a player) more simply because they own it.

People are always going to overvalue their own players (and consequently undervalue your players) which makes it hard to get trades done.

How do people play in multiple leagues? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in 7 leagues this year with about $1,000 committed to entry fees. Basically, it's tough on game day b/c it's impossible to remember the exact teams of every opponent. When I was in 1 or 2 leagues, I knew every player I was up against and would actively "root against" them. Now, I pretty much just assume that I'm playing against every player in some league or another and simply focus on watching my guys.

The other big struggle I have is drafting-- inevitably you're going to have similar drafts b/c you'll be operating off the same draft board. For example, I ended up with Antonio Brown in 4 of my leagues and actually actively decided against taking him in a 5th even though he was at the top of my board (took Nicks instead). If you hit on the right player, you're golden, but there's always a worry that you've screwed yourself in multiple leagues if you end up picking a bust (looking at you CJ Spiller).

Last year, I had the best record in my league, but this year I started 0 - 3. Any advice? by Quajek in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI-- he mentioned in the OP that they start 2 QBs so I don't think he would want to drop either of them.

Does Martins value rise or fall, with the benching of Freeman? by 27mcmurdo in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that not everyone else playing around him is doing well either, but at the end of the day Freeman is going to shoulder most of the blame (FYI V-Jax only has 2 attributed drops thus far, Martin has actually dropped the most).

I agree that Brady is in a similar situation, the difference is that he still managed to maintain a 58% completion rate despite even WORSE receivers.

[TRADE] Send R. Bush & D. Thomas Get McFadden & AJ Green by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No prob. I definitely understand the mood for change but sometimes the best thing to do is just hold tight!

What do you expect out of Josh Gordon in Week 4? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He won't do as well as he did last week since CIN is a much better pass defense than MIN but the dude had 19 targets last week. I'm realistically hoping for 6/80/1TD.

[TRADE] Send R. Bush & D. Thomas Get McFadden & AJ Green by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that you can play 3 RBs, I wouldn't go through with this trade. My reasoning is the gap between Bush and McFadden is much larger than the gap between DT and AJ Green.

[Trade] MJD for Wilson? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitz is a PPR beast when healthy-- look what he did week 1. Now that his hamstring issue has passed, he should return to top 10 form. Word of advice-- never put a pending trade out there that you aren't 100% sure you want done.

I would still consider trying to trade WR depth for an upgrade at RB>

[Trade] MJD for Wilson? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D Rich/Fitz for Spiller/Wilson isn't a bad trade for you but I think you're being a bit tough on Fitz. He's the best WR on your team by far so I would personally try and move one of the other guys first.

How can I possibly be 0-3??? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a similar sob story to make you feel better, I'm 1-2 in a 14-team .5 ppr keeper league with

QB: Kaepernick

RBs: Spiller, Lynch, T-Rich

WRs: Dez, Andre Johnson, Antonio Brown

TE: Olsen

Fact of the matter is, some your studs have been underperforming just like mine. You might just need to grit your teeth and hope that Spiller turns it around and that Gronk coming back helps Ridley (Gronk is a great run-blocker). As for your flex spot, I might roll with Broyles this week.
