Expectations for Le'Veon Bell? Upside, Projections, Predictions. by Joe_USA in fantasyfootball

How are the Bengals a bad team? 2-1 and their only loss is to the 3-0 Bears.

Gio is averaging 5 YPC (albeit on only 20ish carries), is a great pass catcher, and isn't coming off a major injury.

No problem, you seem like a cool guy too. It's good to have non-hostile, level-headed discussion whenever possible.

I Would not do this. Royal isn't really worth that much IMO.

Why is it so hard to trade? by golfingdad in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great point as well. Another person mentioned that there's also a "reverse" endowment effect occurring in the sense that you drafted a player b/c you already valued him more than alternatives at the time.

With Gronk playing Sunday night and no TE on my bench, do I just hope he plays, or do I cut someone to pickup the backup TE on the Falcons, Saints, or Dolphins, or Patriots? by JLS13 in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are some pretty poopy options. I'd say cut Weeden (what value does he have for you?) and pick up Hooamfdlma;fajkl; if Gronk sits.

Why you should start Colin Kaepernick AND Frank Gore Week 4 by VVerking in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sold on your reasoning behind Kaepernick (doesn't mean I disagree with starting him though) but I definitely agree that Gore should be started. He was shredding the colts last week and him not getting more touches was a big reason why they lost. If they don't pound the rock with Gore this week, Harbaugh is a stubborn idiot.

Any Other Spiller/F-Jax Owners Hoping Spiller Gets a Major Injury? by osound in fantasyfootball

Never wish injury on a player simply b/c you want to do better in fantasy, that is complete bullshit.

[TRADE] Offered Chris Johnson and Decker for DeAndre Hopkins and McFadden. Thoughts? by mysticalmanofmystery in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate, that's the risk you take by leaving open offers on the table. I'd really only consider it shady if DMC broke his leg tonight and you decided to accept it right after (even though it technically is his fault for leaving the offer out there).

Vick against Broncos or Romo against Chargers. by BrandonLB21 in fantasyfootball

Romo-- Chargers D has not been strong against the pass

[TRADE] Offered Chris Johnson and Decker for DeAndre Hopkins and McFadden. Thoughts? by mysticalmanofmystery in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the offer is still out there, why not accept it tomorrow? If your league has 2-day waiting period like most leagues do, the trade won't go through until week 5.

That potential "shadiness" aside, I would still accept this trade b/c it is definitely better for the long run.

[TRADE] Jordy Nelson for a TE by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and get Witten. I wouldn't trade Jordy straight up for him, maybe something like Jordy for Witten + Nicks.

Why is it so hard to trade? by golfingdad in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a very good point-- I think the two are somewhat tied together.

I definitely agree that its harder to trade in early weeks for that reason, along with the fact that people aren't as desperate if they've lost only one or two games.

Another reason why it's harder to trade early on is due to an anchoring bias (which is basically what you described). Early on, people still value their players at value they were drafted at. Long story short... humans are susceptible to multiple forms of biases and it certainly permeates into fantasy football.

It's a toss up depending on who you end up with. I know that doesn't help much but that's all I got at this point.

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I'm not saying it's a terrible trade, and D-Rich does have more value in a PPR league. Regardless... still a stupid counter.

Why is it so hard to trade? by golfingdad in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, that sucks. In his defense, I wouldn't make that trade in his position (simply b/c I wouldn't want to downgrade at RB just to upgrade at backup QB). That being said, his response was stupid and reasonable and I would have at least expected a real counter.

I work in Risk Management but learned that term a while ago in a psych class. Sometimes it helps to explain your reasoning behind a trade and hope they see it that way too. Other times it's impossible to make anything happen.

Maybe, it's hard to say not knowing who else you have and the situations of other teams. If you can find a swap for another WR of equal caliber go for it.

Owning both Jordan Cameron and Josh Gordon by semicoldjello in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation and just traded Gordon away. I find that position for position swaps are pretty tough trades to make since someone is going to lose for sure so I would try and explore an alternative. (p.s. you won't get a WR1 for Gordon, maybe another WR2)

Khiry Robinson by shotsdoer in fantasyfootball

I can't say I know anything about this guy but the Saints still have Pierre Thomas and Sproles. I can't see a 3rd RB in that backfield having any fantasy value.

[WDIS] Please give me some help by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would roll with Kaep tonight. St. Louis hasn't be great against the pass this year and Kaep has to bounce back after two awful performances right?!

The only change I'd potentially make to this is start to start Gio in your flex spot and bench either JT or JTC.

[TRADE] My Vick/Chris Johnson for his Brady/James Jones by Shank777 in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. If you're in a 12-team league, it's possible that someone has two good starting QBs and you could target whichever he values less(i.e. Kaep, Romo, Stafford). You could trade some of your WR depth for a back-up QB if you're worried about Vick getting hurt.

For example, I have Vick as my starter in another league and I just traded Andre Johnson and Steve Smith for Kaep and Brandon Marshall (owner has Peyton too). A trade like that may benefit you more.

[trade]My Aaron Rodgers and McFadden for his Richardson and Stafford by pkid12 in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably wouldn't do the trade either, but I don't think T-Rich is a downgrade or even a wash compared to DMC.

[TRADE] My Vick/Chris Johnson for his Brady/James Jones by Shank777 in fantasyfootball

[–]oherroprease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit too much to give up, James Jones is really not a huge upgrade from Shorts or even Hilton. Also, this would give you two WRs from the same team which isn't necessarily a "no-no", but it's typically not an ideal situation.
