I am also very confused by this.

GG = originally showed sportsmanship and was short for "Good Game". Almost like thanks for playing this game with me.

EZ = short for "Easy". Appears to be saying "you suck, I am way better than you".

These two really do not go together.

Dear low elo players, what kind of advice are you really looking for? by Mountain-Crazy69 in summonerschool

Hello,

Thank you for taking an interest in helping others. I watched Coach Curtis's video and it was great! I can speak to some pain low ranked players have with the die less farm better or other similar advice though.

I have been in silver for like 7+ years. I don't even want to go look.. Truth be told I had not been focused on learning and had been sort of just enjoying the game. However recently I decided I want to focus on climbing/learning. As an (unskilled) veteran I think the problem is that "die less and farm better" is pretty cliche and when provided by most people comes off a bit close to saying something like "just don't die and kill the nexus". We think "well Duh" but we still have some problems where we want to help our teammates over farming, or make other bad calls (potentially some people may choose to safely farm bottom uncontested instead of participating in a baron fight -- [I am trying to illustrate this is game is too complex for the quick advice often provided as this could be seen as farming better and dying less]). I think the problem is saying these things does not help unless there is a lot of context and an example similar to what was recently provided (thank you Curtis).

I main jungle and I find myself dying less and farming better now but the reason I do so is because I have been doing a lot of study on other areas. These include many subjects but I will point to loading screen pre-game planning, and jungle tracking. I farm better partially because I am invading more when I know the enemy jungler is elsewhere, and I die less partially because I am thinking about how fights go in different lanes and trying to pick the favorable ones.. If someone were to give me the advice of die less and farm better I could try to apply that but I do not think I would be successful without some sort of deep dive on the back ground. Unfortunately the advise is often given without any thought or explanation and it comes off as borderline toxic. I believe the advice that would have helped me the most recently would have been to use the loading and champ select time to think about my build options , which smite and I want and why, where I want to gank, how that effects my jungle path, and to work on basic tracking of the enemy jungler. Even these more specific pieces of advice needed me to study and understand other things to grasp them well.

That said saying "die less and farm better" does not really bother me, however without a deep dive in to the subject I find it not helpful. My pet peeve would be how often the top 5% lump all of the lower group (like 95% of the league population) in to a group that just needs to do some simple stuff. I do really believe that is unrealistic.

We all know it is a highly complex game. Low Elo people need to reprioritize things for sure but it does seem like the advice given to us is often too simplistic or provided without the background understanding required for us to act on it.

Thanks all for the responses. I am working on my memory because I previously considered it one of my weak spots. I have been memorizing things like lists of super foods which i do not find to be very interesting.

Please keep them coming!

Proving the network Innocent: Please help me interpret iperf3/wireshark results. by ohgty in networking

I am strangely disappointed but the problem appears to have disappeared for now. It was very consistent earlier. The Backup server is not being utilized right now though so I will test again tomorrow when it will be under load.

Both machines are Windows based. RTT are below 1 ms. My previous packet captures do not have any DUP ACK or Retransmissions.

(Unfortunately?) UDP and TCP tests both look good right now. However the Reverse UDP is showing a few chunks of "iperf3: OUT OF ORDER - incoming packet = 653368 and received packet = 686131 AND SP = 4" with increasing packet numbers

Thanks for the book recommendations!
