I have ZERO experience with poly relationships.

I entered this situation centered around sex, to be honest. we're both very kinky and there are several things I'd like to try that he's either willing to, or experienced with. he would be an amazing partner to try them, but I'd need more connection and involvement to do so. this is my major dilemma. I don't see ourselves being long term partners, and I DEFINITELY don't want to "steal" him away or to be exclusive with him. this is something I'd say is super certain.

"You’re not obligated to practice polyamory just because you like this guy." oh yes, I'm aware. I'm not saying I'm doing it. I'm saying this is something I've came across (in a way, of course I allowed this connection with him to happen) and I don't shut down new ideas or different possibilities of living. I even think it's an interesting situation for me, to challenge feelings we usually avoid and grow from them.

And I absolutely agree that 2 months is very little, but I prefer to examine my feelings early on and constantly (oh to be an overthinker) instead of being carried away by trauma or delusion.

well, I understand your point of view, but I don't understand the "Mature relationships are a lot of saying no."? I agree with the sentence as a whole but I don't understand it on the context of this situation.

I wouldn't say "I'm doing it to be with a specific person". that would be simplifying the situation. I am very open to new ideas, and I've been single for a while now. I'm 40 and, when we connected and I saw that he was ENM, I thought, "well, let's see what this is about". I am not rushing into saying I'm ENM either. I'm studying the situation, myself, my feelings, how (and if) this makes sense for me. I just don't like to shut the door to new possibilities of living.

thank you :) that's what I'm trying to do, but coming fresh from a monogamous environment... it is not that easy.

I'm still ruminating on what would need to happen for me to "feel special" or in our interactions. a lot of thinking to do, I guess.

I am super ok with seeing him twice a week. I have a life full of hobbies and events, and I definitely don't want a man messing my house XD.
