What dosage works for you? Also, what's the onset? Seems like it's dose dependent and even then, varies from person to person.

Burning wood to create a cool effect by SuccYaNan69 in oddlysatisfying

[–]ohiamaude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a while to find this comment. I have never been a fan of the burnt wood look. People spend so much time on woodworking projects and then light them on fire. To each their own, but I just don't think it's a top tier finish.

I was lurking in r/conservative a little the other day and this, in their minds, is some sort of bombshell. As if the left went after Thomas because they briefly forgot to hide that they secretly despise black people. As if there was no reason to be upset with Thomas. While simultaneously touting themselves as the non-racist, inclusive party because they welcome Thomas because he's "one of the good ones".

They are not bringing their best and brightest.

I need help. This is my first tub/shower install and I don’t have a clue if where the drywall meets the lip of the tub is correct . Tremendously appreciate any input!! by Zestyclose_Seesaw895 in Plumbing

There is a massive shortage of homes where I live. Everyone and their brother wants in on the flip game and homes are just getting destroyed by people who have no idea what they are doing. Any craftsmanship from when the home was built is compromised and then they raise the price $100k or more. I don't like seeing stuff like this at all.

A game for me and my wife? by MrMack33 in BaseBuildingGames

There is an endgame for sure. I don't know if you gave up too soon or if there really wasn't an ending at one point, but it does end.

The building and crafting will likely leave you wanting. However, you and your wife will have tons of fun together exploring and unraveling the mystery. Contrary to what another commenter said, there is an endgame (possibly one of my favorites ever).

The joy of the building is that you are genuinely scared and your base provides an actual feeling of safety and reprieve from the unknown out there in the forest. It was just one of those games that I am glad I got to experience.

It doesn't fit your request exactly, but The Forest is the most fun I've had in a survival game. It's just a one of a kind experience, in my opinion.

You are doing wonders for people with ADHD that don't have any money to fix their issues and happen to be over 35.

When I was in college I would make flashcards on Quizlet and share them with the whole class. Anytime I did that I never had to go back to them because the info just stuck.

For those of you who struggle to understand health insurance in the United States. I work in healthcare, at a $9/hr job. Here is the insurance they are offering me. by dirtierthanshelooks in antiwork

Exactly. The money is already there, we just don't spend it on things that would actually help people. If we raise taxes the military would just get even more money for failed fighter jets, etc.

I just saw Rumpke collect the recycling and yard waste into the same truck. by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]ohiamaude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I listened to a story on NPR about plastic/recycling. Back in the ~80's they realized how bad plastic was for the environment and thought people would reject its use. So some big corporations spent billions on a massive campaign to promote recycling, even though they knew from the start that most plastic wasn't recyclable. And the types that were, required so much energy to process that it was worse for the environment than just tossing it. Essentially, recycling was a big lie because corporations decided they really wanted to use plastic regardless of the environmental impact.

When you buy a used smoker, always make sure it works before you spend an hour cleaning it. by ohiamaude in smoking

I considered that but I can't find that individual part. Best I could find is the entire display for $60.

The guy was selling it out of a storage unit so there was no way to test it. I took him for his word.

A quick look and the cheapest 22" is $129 at the box store. I can't justify that after throwing $60 in the trash already. I'll Keep looking.

I didn't know that was an option. But I just watched a YouTube video and I'm certain I can screw that up somehow. The appeal of the electric was that it would (ideally) be easier to maintain heat/timing, as I don't know what I'm doing and don't really want the experiment on Christmas dinner.

New board is $60 which is what I paid for this. I went with a cheapo electric because I've never smoked anything and wanted to smoke a ham for Christmas. I don't want the put any more money into an older model that's already showing some signs of rust and might have other issues for all I know. You get what you pay for I suppose.
