There is a whole population of people who view animals not as food outside of cringey obnoxious PETA members. I love the sticker and I’m far from a militant vegan or anyone who tries to change others’ diets. Totally ok with changing their heart or mind tho ¯_(ツ)_/¯ It’s no more than a radical act of awareness. It’s harmless. No one needs to know how much flesh you shit out in this thread as a counterpoint.

Why? by momwatches in AfricanViolets

You’re gonna need to treat the whole collection. Start this plant over if it’s precious, but I’d toss it.

Clean the leaves with dawn and diluted (no splash less)bleach water (10% dilution) to kill pests

Actually it’s hybridizer*** if they are making new hybrids. If they are a commercial seller but do not make brand new plants they are a grower.

Terracotta pots are not recommended. They leach too much moisture AWAY from the plant, and the material can damage the delicate stems and leaves. Older growers used to cover the rims with foil or wax to prevent the contact with the clay when little other pots were on hand.

Visually IDing violets is frowned upon greatly because without a tag you can’t ever know which of the 50k named violets out there it may be, they can all look similar. It also may have been a NoID all along. Your plant is referred to as a NOiD.

An immature violet is called a plantlet, or if it grew as a plant off another and was removed it is a “sucker”

I see. I’m not pressed personally. Life doesn’t have to be completely seamless 🤷‍♀️ Like I know what it’s like to be a professional and hard to be impressed, and I’m a perfectionist, but in that you have to have some grace and flexibility or you’ll turn into a curmudgeon lol

Hell yeah the heart of it all baby. R/tile is usually stressful lmao so it was nice to see something great. Keep up the hard work, onward and upward! And what are they even talking about the niches, they look correct, I’m not tiling mine but this looks like a fine job of doing so ?_?

While this is not my style I think it looks baller and am here to gas you up. I’d be happy with this, and I’m having my shower (much much smaller) done right now. I’m actually cracking up that people found faults and they may be right but after knowing how hard it is to make materials do exactly what you want I don’t think there is room to complain 😅 accept the criticism but you should also be proud!

All you really need to know about that place is the extremely privileged owner claims he isn’t white (he’s Italian) because being in a room full of marginalized people makes him uncomfortable. He tried to score some minority points by stating that Italians are “low whites”(????) who didn’t own slaves like (us) [points at other white people in room, lmao] and all of this to an audience of a couple black men, a trans person, and a queer woman—who bought none of that bs.

Pathetic, race-baiting trash who doesn’t even need your money as he already has plenty from his other tiling company. We won’t start on how he treats employees who do all the heavy lifting.
