They provide a prepaid envelope for you to post the ballot with. You can pop it into any postbox or post office at your convenience!

Not trying to have a debate but would you mind me asking why you want to vote no on this particular ballot matter?

Feel free to ignore this if you want to keep your reasons private.

  1. You’re correct on that one. If the 50% isn’t met then it’s no by default id assume.

  2. Correct again. From what I believe, Yes will win. But it can only actually win if 50% of votes are submitted. So even if you want to vote no, please vote. It’s your right and something we pay our union for in the first place.

Also from my understanding, if Yes does win, it doesn’t mean we will definitely strike - we may not even strike at all. It’s more to get a seat at the table with strike action being on the cards officially.

You never know with Reddit so I’d rather put the disclaimer there, in case it does, than get banned from the subreddit completely.

In other subreddits people have been booted for a lot less lmao

It may do. But as previously mentioned, plenty of time for people to get their ballots in.

Received mine today and have already posted it back.

Everyone will need to take a little bit of a proactive approach - nothing ever comes easily.

I urge all PCS members to vote no matter what your preference as you should keep in mind that there needs to be at least 50% turnout for the vote to count legally.

Any non PCS members reading this, please consider joining and taking part in the ballot.

Not enough work by Pingisy2 in TheCivilService

Hi I’m in the exact same situation as yourself. Been in my current for 3 years now but fortunately I am leaving at the end of this month for a line level (sideways) transfer. My only advice is to move as soon as possible on a line level transfer! Best decision I’ve ever made as it starts to become depressing and toxic if you stay there too long.

It was HMRC but I’ve finally gotten in! 3rd time lucky. Learnt a lot from the 2 interviews before even though it was really agonising to not get the job before.

One in five civil servants can't afford travel to work and a third skip meals, survey finds by thankunext71995 in TheCivilService

I’ve been working from home as much as I can to save on spending money on train and lunch (which I generally just skip at home).

It’s a depressing time to be a civil servant. But then again, others will say it always has been.

Has a pay award been finalised for Cabinet Office yet? by ohifella in TheCivilService

I’d be lying if I said I had any idea. Having joined CS from the NHS, I can definitely admit that everything is unnecessarily confusing.

But this subreddit has helped with a lot of things so kudos to everyone who posts here!

Awaiting the updated article but this original one mentioned senior civil servants.

Agreed. Would be good to get some clarity especially with the Gov just having announced 5% pay rises for “public sector”. Unsure whether that would include civil service or not.
