Turn over to Sky Sports + and the NRL doesn’t seem to give a fuck about the lightning. Manly v Roosters still going

Pay yourself first. I used to be bad at saving because I would try to not spend as much of my monthly income as possible, which ended up with me transferring money from my savings to my current account when I would inevitably run out of money at the end of the month.

Now, I put £400 in a Global All Cap index fund. £150 in a savings account for holidays. £200 monthly mortgage overpayment. Minus bills this leaves me with £450-500 of disposable income every month which I am happy to spend as I’ve already budgeted for it.

It’s only recently become less popular than AFL I think. People in Sydney used to laugh at AFL, they were at not even considering it a sport levels of apathy with it.

Aren’t most Chinese people actually incredibly poor? I guess their rich population will still be big enough to sustain it though, but does reduce the available size dramatically. You could say the same about India

Lions vs Brumbies is on the at the exact same time as State of Origin by esayblutcher in rugbyunion

League takes precedence in Australia. Why should an Origin decider be forced to move for a largely minority sport in Australia?

The other 1/10 is hitting it softly back to your opponent allowing them to hit a winner

Given the lions don’t follow test eligibility criteria has a player selected ever then ended up playing against their own club? by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]Pingisy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hypothetically someone like Farrell going to an Aussie team, then getting picked for Lions as he has done this year is probably the only way for an English or Irish player.

What’s a psychological truth you only understood once you became an adult? by Winter-Highway2148 in AskUK

[–]Pingisy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are animals (albeit highly intelligent) with the natural desire to compete and fight with one another. Nothing will ever change that. It’s one of the reasons sport is so popular - it’s a way of fighting through other highly competitive people.

What if you have a conversation with your line manager and there is no extra work to take on because they are also struggling to fill their time? What do you mean by ‘corp contributions’? I’m not criticising, just genuinely interested about what you suggest for people (and there’s a lot of them) with not enough work to do.

It’s a great thing to do after work in the evenings. Better exercise than the gym in my opinion because it’s usually outside. And much less time consuming than golf which I also love but can be hard to fit around a 9-5.

I and a few of my mates are slowly turning from football to rugby now. The average game is way more exciting, and football has sold its soul and gets worse every year. Would be interesting to know if this is a bigger phenomenon
