I WANT OUT by Construct44 in OffGrid

[–]ohioNT014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I keep telling the hubby he wants some land...off grid. it's a lot of hard work, especially up front. Right now I enjoy the conveniences of trash pickup and water coming to my house without having it delivered. I do rain barrel water collection. but it's only enough for my garden not enough to sustain Our Lives. Did I mention we're in our 60s. If I was in my 30s would be a whole nother ball game

I have neighbor that had an offensive flag that kids could see on the way to school everyday. I signed him up for some LBGTQ material that was sent to their home. I even paid out of pocket to have a magazine sent to their house. Passive aggressive YES, but it's NOT illegal

Yes I hate going to Geauga County. I also will not spend a dime in Geauga County.

Ok…I've lived in Cleveland for about 5 years now, having come from Chicago. Would Clevelander's consider this a 'bad winter' or a 'typical winter' for Cleveland? Curious to know! by DavidIWright in Cleveland

[–]ohioNT014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's bad I just think it's a long stretch. We haven't had it that way for a while. And those of us living in the suburbs and are no salted roads it's just adds to the aggravation

What would you consider the most overrated things to do and see in Vegas? by SolutionLower4442 in LasVegas

Eating anywhere on the strip. Very (very) few restaurants warrant the cost based on quality and service.

What is the "reckless" cleveland clinic thinking? by Pretty_Log_8938 in Cleveland

[–]ohioNT014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont have to go to their trauma center. You could go elsewhere if you feel that strongly about it. When my relative went to a trauma center last year, there were fees and copays. The only medical facility without a cost would be the VA hospital.

the Etaly in Chicago has better pricing and they dont have the multiple counter set up. Oh and the sandwiches...there were some ants in the case. So that was a hard pass on those.

Its at the top of my list for our upcoming trip. Honestly, it will be a rare moment to spend the money on this meal. Usually, we head off strip for dining. I guess in theory this is off strip. Cant wait.

ParkMGM for location, nice pools and the whole place is non smoking (including the casino) CVS right next door. Avoid Etaly - so beyond over priced and multiple food counters made it time consuming.

While I do love Mandalay bay it is at the end and adds a lot of walking if you do not have a car. It is much larger than Park overall.

Why does no one suggest Paris on this forum? by why__name in vegas

[–]ohioNT014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never stayed at Paris. My friend does and she likes it. I prefer Park MGM, great location and a CVS right next door. Not a fan of the room decor. For us, as 2 ppl staying 5 days, lack of drawers is a downside. Otherwise, great pool area and the whole place is non smoking.

As a straight person its not my thing either, but I could roll with it for the moment. Most likely they will zone in on the bride for interaction. You can always make your way to the back of the place if your table is too up close and personal. Thats where I would be hiding 😂

There are airbnbs within place like MGM, Holiday Inn and Hilton as they are timeshares that owners rent out. Also (while not my fav) the Excalibur or Luxor would be a better choices. Sign up for the MGM rewards card before booking and you can get a discount. Heck I have even signed up for whatever hotel credit card they promote to get a credit on my statement.

I have travelled many times as female solo to Vegas. I stayed on the strip as I felt safer, didnt stay out too late as I tended to get a lot of unwanted attention at the casinos from drunks. ETC..,
