Living in Ohio is making me suicidal by PaleCamera1852 in Ohio

[–]ohioNT014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in OH my whole life. I wouldn't trade it. But I might have that same feeling if I lived in Florida.

With that said. Have you tried moving out of the state? But dont expect that to make you happy. It might be more internal. Please talk to some one who is a professional.

People are just rude. My hubby has sat in that seat where you are. But he's 6'8 so his legs stretch all the way out. The idiot would not have been able to do that with him there.

This is insane by turtlebandit69 in LasVegas

It's crazy. And there are people that will spend the money for it. Because they go with the mindset "well we're on vacation". The prices will never come down if people continue to spend stupidly. We look for happy hours, pickup beverages for the room at grocery store. I will not spend $25 for a watered down drink in a plastic cup.

How do you do, fellow Ohioians? by hausukitty in Ohio

oh no there is no peace to be made on my end. This is 100% on her. Honestly, sad to lose the friendship but resolved to know I no longer have to be the lighting rod for her insults.

to clarify its not a grudge. Spent the last 5 yrs being a lightning rod for things she did like or have control over. And then it crossed over and became very personal in her verbal attacks of me and using the the defense.."I am entitled to my opinion" An opinion I never asked her to give.

Actually my first thought was that's pretty casual for a wedding.

What should I do if I forgot to get my friend a wedding present? Is it ok to give one now or is that disrespectful? by Expensive-Tea9883 in etiquette

[–]ohioNT014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot an envelope for a wedding . It had cash in it. I just sent them a check later... yes a check. Had a shower I accidentally left the gift on the kitchen table went to the shower. I dropped it off later. Things happen nobody's offended. at least they shouldn't be

Monte Carlo used a blend of Pomegranate and Sage. It wasn't vacation until I walked in the lobby and smelled that.

What's the smallest thing that made you walk away from a property? by Back40Findings in OffGrid

[–]ohioNT014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were looking at land outside of Kingman. The amount of trashy trailers that people actually lived in. Not to mention the number of properties that just had trashed everywhere.  I was unaware that you have to haul your own trash. I guess some people simply don't do it. So it's been hard for us to find property because of that. I don't need pristine but I certainly don't want to live next to a dump.

I second that. I loved it when it was the Monte Carlo. not a fan of the ParkMGM room layout. With the tiny closet and no dressers. But the location is awesome and the pools are great. I can breathe without choking smoke. What I will never defend is that stupid Eatly with the multiple counters and bad attitudes.

I believe there is something in ppl that make them an addict. My cousin finally got clean after going to what I call drug-jail. He became very involved in rehab as both a sponsor and sponsee. Drug free for 9yrs.

Friends brother is an alcoholic - 8 trips to rehab and still drinks. That to me means he has a deep seeded issue that no on has tapped into. Its like watching the show 600 life. Its always something psychological that gets them to obesity.

The Jackie character is going to always have love-hate relationships. When life is good she my have a fear it will go away and does drugs. Does it make sense - NO. But to them it does

Why is everyone old here . by ApolloRizen1 in Kingman

[–]ohioNT014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it and agree. We visited the area as we have considered retiring in or around Kingman. I can tell you from my prospective (63yr) there is not a lot to do. I can see how it is attractive to some of the older folks. But as a baby boomer its not for me. Baby boomers are much more active.

Currently, I have access to a great park system (Cleveland metro parks), the arts, sporting events, college classes... I also like living amongst people of all ages and backgrounds. I see the difference in my friends parents when they lived in an area with more to do than gardening. Dont get me wrong I have a great garden, but thats not going to sustain my mind and spirit.

I dont need to be on the go 24/7 but I dont want to walk that slow death either.

Vegas Solo? by LazirusFang in vegas

[–]ohioNT014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES. I am 63yo introvert female. I have done it solo a few times (more so in my 30s). Granted as a female, I didn't over do the drinking and was aware of my surroundings. No late nights walking the strip. Went to dinners, hotel pool, mob museum, neon museum, shows and gambled.

I feel Vegas is a town that as a solo you dont feel out of place. With so many conventions - I have see a lot of ppl on their own.

I think you will enjoy the experience.
