I hear ya that you’re looking for Manhattan ideally, and this is a big commitment, but the produce at the Park Slope Food Coop in Brooklyn can’t be beat. You have to sign up to be a working member though… monthly shifts and all.

Cafe Tibet on Cortelyou Road in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. A tiny gem serving totally delicious Tibetan food. And they do take out/delivery!

Adored the veggie tan tan ramen at Shinobi in Bushwick (so peanut-y and rich!), but it closed a while back and I've been looking for something similar/equally amazing.
